“Gorgeous accommodation, thrilled.” Absolutely thrilled with this town house. Spotlessly clean, modern and stylish. The best location on the complex with a poolside view, 2 rooftop terraces with gas BBQ for ease. One terrace mainly sun and the other some shade which suited our party perfectly. The house is south facing so lots of winter sunshine should you go out of season. The agent Rachael is invaluable for local information and can book car hire, restaurants and deal with any issues or queries. Large swimming pool and sunbeds are available. Plenty of outdoor seating on the private patio area at the front of the house and on the rooftop terraces. The walk into town takes 10-15 mins down a series of steps. Of course coming back is a little harder but we enjoyed the walk. Taxis are cheap should you prefer.
Tavira is a very quaint river town. Lots of shops and restaurants catering for every purse and palate. Tavira island is a must with the local boat making regular return trips for €1.20. The beaches are long, clean and beautiful. We went to Seville which is 1.5hrs away by car, easily done as a day trip. If golf is your thing it's paradise.
I can't sing the praises of this accommodation enough. The photographs do NOT do it justice. Just beautiful. Can't wait to go again.
“A very relaxing holiday, a lovely spacious apartment with with all amenities to hand” We (family of 4 including two daughters aged 11 and 8) had a most relaxing stay in Villa Baia. The apartment complex was lovely - the apartment was very spacious and very clean - the pool area was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. The complex is located very close to the Luz beach and promenade with plenty of restaurants for all tastes. We would definitely recommend this apartment complex and area to family and friends and we intend to go back again soon.
“Perfect apartment for a quiet, spacious holiday” We spent a week here at the beginning of June, and loved it. The apartment was clean and spacious, loads of room for 2 people, 2 balconies and a patio with BBQ. The pool is great for a lazy afternoon, and local supermarket only 5mins walk - even has English tea! For us the location was perfect, close to the old town and beach and away from the touristy strip - though it is uphill, so you need to be happy to walk! We had a great time and would definitely recommend.
“An excellent appartment in the centre of town, great value for money!” This appartment has an excellent location in the centre of Carvoeiro, which has numerous good bars, restaurants, shops and a fabulous sandy beach. We enjoyed walks in and around Carvoeiro, taking in the amazing views. The appartment is clean, well equipped and has two beutifully refurbished bathrooms. The lounge is spacious and very comfortable. It has a large balcony which gets the sun during the afternoon, the perfect place for watching the world go by. Both bedrooms are a good size and are situated either side of the appartment. Both bedrooms and lounge have access to the balcony. There is a well maintained communal swimming pool.
“Wonderful spacious apartment” Wonderful, very spacious apartment ,modern very clean bathrooms wonderful showers, fantastic aircon ,pool very inviting, everything you could need for self catering is here everything is brand new , owner very helpful with any questions you need answers to , only problem we found was that in all honesty its not near anything, apart from the golf courses that is, it is more like 30mins walk to beach/marina/supermarkets so a little too far in that heat and also quite a remote road from here to the main road to villamora , so a car is a must really as it will be 10 euros for a cab one way , also we found that the cabs had trouble finding the apartment when called , also just a small detail that the owner said he will remedy soon is that there were only two sunbeds, so in all a great place for a very quiet break away, teenagers will need more to do than stay here unless its peace and quiet they want too.
Wont say anything about marina etc as its all there and much fun can be had by all , just stay away from the Liana boat trip its overbooked and most of the boat seating is inside very cramped and was more like a very cheap ferry ,they also say dolphins can be seen but the last time anyone did on that boat was years ago , they dont go far enough out to sea for that so dont be fooled, your better off doing the Excite dolphin safari really good fun and defo worth it wonderful seeing them in the sea .
“Very relaxing lovely holiday” The villa was beautiful and very spacious. We were with our 2 teenage boys (12 and 15) and there was plenty space for the boys (and us!) to have our own space when needed. The pool was their favourite part of the holiday. They had great fun in it for hours. It maybe sounds selfish and anti social, but it was lovely that it was solely for our use. No fighting for loungers, noise level, drunks etc etc. There is plenty of space around the pool for parents to keep an eye on the kids in the pool but still relax themselves.
The games room was another favourite with the boys as they sometimes needed some time out of the hot sun. They loved the pool table and the PS3. They also loved the fact that there was WiFi for their phones and gadgets. There was no washing machine when we first arrived as it had broken but a lovely shiny new one was soon delivered and this was great. The only thing we found was the position of the rotary dryer outside was not ideal. It was round the back of the house, not directly in the sun. Some of the ropes were broken and because it was under trees, the birds tended to deposit things on the clean washing! We bought a piece of washing line and set up our own drying line so it wasn't a big deal. The kitchen and utensils were adequate for us as we tended to only have breakfast and light lunch sometimes in the villa. There is a microwave, dishwasher, and BBQ but we didn't need to use any of these. I would say some of the kitchen equipment (cups) and cutlery are maybe in need of being replaced now. The bedrooms were big and colourful. There were plenty of towels for both the pool and bathrooms. The bed we had downstairs was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows could do with being renewed as they were lumpy. I wasn't keen on the feather duvet, but that's probably just me! The bedrooms had air conditioning which was great to have. The villa is within walking distance of the town but it is very hot from 10am onwards so we tended to use the hired car. We didn't ever use taxis at night as we didn't tend to go out for the night life, but I don't think taxis would be expensive if you were doing this. We had a walk through the town one night and there was a lovely atmosphere. Families were out and about, music playing, market stalls etc. It can be cool and breezy at night but all that is needed is a light cardigen/hoodie. Supermarkets are nearby and seem to stock everything. The villa is beside other villas but very private with nobody looking in on the pool. We hardly saw anyone else at all. The neighbours all seemed to have dogs, which tended to all bark to each other at various times of the day, but it wasn't overnight or early morning, so it was bearable. There was good security around the villa with locking gates and shutters for the villa, so we felt safe there.
I would recommend this villa to anyone. We had a lovely relaxing time and loved Lagos. We travelled to Zoo Marine to swim with the dolphins and we also went twice to the go karting track. The boys loved this and were keen to go back. It was very quiet both times. We thought most people maybe went on holiday to go to the beach etc, but our two certainly loved this place.
My only problem was with the bed and pillows, but this would be easily solved. Booking and communication etc was excellent throughout. When we arrived we were given a contact for a couple locally should we need any laundry done (before the new machine was delivered) and if we needed other information. They were very nice and helpful.
Thank you. We had a great holiday. Hope you do too. :-)
“Beautiful accommadation” Lovely apartment. Huge space! Bedrooms fantastic. 2 showers a blessing for the girls! Best place ee have stayed in by a mile. Lovely pool and family atmosphere. Hilly walk back home every evening but no problem. Kept is fit! Home inless than 10 mins from Old Town Square. Would recommend this highly. Thank you.
“Very nice apartment and owner. Worth to stay.” Big and clean apartment. Kitchen fully equipped with all what you need. Room clean. Only bed mattress wasn't too comfortable but that could be improve other wise can't fault anything and will recommend to anybody and also stay there in future. Shops are very close and the beach is only about 8 minutes walk about same distance to intermarche but there is one market closer if you don't want go further. Thanks Gabriel for renting us you apartment we have it lovely holidays.
“Perfect! We have come back year after year and it just gets better!” We have been coming to the villa since May 2013, sometimes twice a year and have recommend it to countless friends and family who have all had the same fantastic opinion of it. The changes Joao and his wife have made to the villa this year have only added to the feeling of quality. Our first visit was our young daughters first holiday at 9 months old, it speaks volumes that we have not had a family holiday anywhere but here since! She has grown up here, taken here first steps, and learnt to swim. We cannot recommend it highly enough, and must also mention how easy Joao is to deal with and how clean and welcoming his handover people make it.
“Impeccable Stay - Lovely Surroundings.. will be back again!” My overall stay at this apartment was impeccable in the month of the September. The apartment itself is situated in a great location, with stunning surroundings and scenery with an immediate view of the golf course to the front balcony. The resort itself is very secure, quiet and peaceful and is only a short 5 minutes from the beach, which has an excellent restaurant we ate at, as well as many other lovely surrounding restaurants. Both the golf courses on the resort Gramacho and Pinta are also worth playing, as me and my partner are regular golf players.
Upon the arrival the apartment was immaculately clean with a modern décor, with excellent amenities needed during the stay such as satellite TV, Wi-Fi, additional sun loungers for the balcony and also a brick BBQ which was great for cooking on in the evenings. The swimming pool was a great size and was nice and quiet throughout the day for sunbathing.
Overall we had an excellent stay with great weather at this lovely apartment and both me and my partner agreed it was one of the best holiday homes we've rented through Holiday Lettings and will 100% be visiting here again next year. The Algarve is truly a lovely area and this property definitely does it justice. A great stay!!
“EXCELLENT , relaxing holiday” we had an excellent holiday,
car is a must ,, update your sat nav before going ,, the roads around LUZ have been updated and my sat nav did not pick up the new roads,
Patricia the owner is a lovely person , she communicated fast via email or phone, she even arranged car hire from the airport, cheep car ,
deposit was returned very fast ,,
the villa is a short drive inland from the town of LUZ , very quite area , just what we needed ,
i will be looking to return next year ,,
“Exceptional villa inside and out, luxury fixtures & fittings, good sea views, plus child & family friendly” We arranged to stay at this villa at very short notice and the response from the owners was very prompt and efficient in all aspects of the booking.
In my view the property is highly suited to families with children, and groups.
We were able to fully relax knowing that the pool had a mesh fence to keep little ones out (this can be removed). The downstairs really lends itself to family living with an open plan kitchen dining and living space, this leads out onto the patio via 2 x double doors. The patio does provide good shade during the day, we also made use of the gas BBQ.
We found it was great to have use of a bed-guard for our 3 year old, and a toddler toilet seat, there was also a small table and chairs which our 2 children loved to use.
We all slept well the beds were nice and comfortable; there was plenty of storage space drawers and wardrobes etc.
The kitchen was well equipped and the appliances were very good quality and easy to use.
There is also an upstairs lounge which is beautiful.
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone else. We would definitely love to stay again.
“Beautiful Villa” Just come back from my hen party in this villa. It was beautiful, clean, well located and had the most lovely pool and decor. The owners could not do enough! We had the most amazing weekend. Its a small taxi (or tuc tuc) ride away from the old town, which has a beautiful beach, restaurants and cute shops. The night life there is good fun too! There is a lovely seafood place about a five minute walk away from the villa and also a lovely beach with nice beach food. Reccomend Reccomend! Suitable for familys or groups of girls!
“Perfect apartment and location for young children and adults alike” We stayed here for 3 weeks over the end of May and June, and had a different set of grandchildren and their parents for each week. Childrens ages ranged from 6 to 1! The apartment was everything it promised to be. It was spotlessly clean - in fact appeared to be brand new and never inhabited, although this was not the case. Sandra was an excellent person to greet us and she has very high standards of cleaning such apartments. The rooms were spacious and cool, as was the balcony, and every possible amenity was provided - from DVD's for all ages, coffee making machine, beach towels etc. The cot and high chair were good quality, in fact the apartment, pool etc was extremely child friendly and safe. Location to nearby beach, town, shops and restaurants was brilliant and prices were reasonable in the town. Sandra and Kim were most accommodating regarding changing of bed linen towels etc as our dates were not exactly standard, and the apartment was cleaned at the end of each week.
“a home from home!” The villa was amazing and had everything we could need for our family! As a family of 3 generations it had enough space and comfort to relax and enjoy our stay. The outdoor space was super especially for the children during the day and the adults in the evenings! We all loved the huge BBQ and dining area and certainly made full use of it! The municipal market has a great butcher and fishmonger with very reasonable prices. Intermarche is also good but we found it could be chaotic most days. Again prices were fairly reasonable. We went to the beach most days but preferred the Falaisa beach even though it was further to walk, as Olhos de Agua beach was usually packed! We did have a car but found that it wasn't really essential as everything was within walking distance. All in all a fantastic holiday and we all want to return as soon as we can.
This popular holiday destination has sunshine by the bucket and spade load. The Blue Flag beaches, watersports and activities for kids make the Algarve a fantastic choice for a fun-filled family break. From the lively resorts near the beach to the cobbled streets and whitewashed houses in the villages, the Algarve has something for everyone. And with a three hour flight time from the UK, getting there is a breeze.Soak up the sun on the terrace at a self-catering apartment or enjoy the space of a luxury villa in the Algarve for your next holiday.
Things to do from your villas in Algarve
One of the best ways to see the natural beauty of the Algarve coastline is with a visit to the Ponta da Piedade. The weathered cliffs, rock pillars, natural tunnels and hidden grottos are stunning. Join a boat trip and let your captain navigate through the rocky formations and view the magnificent cliffs from the sea. The shops, restaurant and lighthouse at the peak of the cliffs are also well worth a visit. There are so many beautiful beaches here you'll be spoilt for choice - Praia Gale, Meia Praia and Tavira Island to name but a few - so if you love a beach holiday, the Algarve will certainly not disappoint. There are so many attractions here you'll want to come back year after year. Some highlights include the Slide & Splash Water Park in Lagoa, Zoomarine Algarve in Guia and the atmospheric and historical Cerro da Vila in Vilamoura.
Food & drink in Algarve
When you're not cooking up your own culinary creations in your self-catering holiday home, there are plenty of tempting places to eat and drink in the Algarve. Enjoy some traditional Portuguese which usually involves fresh fish and shellfish. The national dish is "bacalhau" (dried, salted cod) and the classic "caldeirada" (fish stew) is a thing of wonder. Grilled sardines and horse mackerel are popular in the coastal towns and meat eaters should try the "cozido à portuguesa", a thick stew of vegetables with meat. “Leitão assado" (roast suckling pig) is popular in the north of the country, as are pork sausages called "chouriço" or "linguiça."

Albufeira old town 2 mns walk from beach free wifi ,sea view
We stayed at Reinaldo’s apartment during February half term. The apartment was spotless and had everything you needed. We were a family of four & had plenty of room. Reinaldo is fabulous host, nothing is too much trouble & is at the end of the phone if you have any questions. We arranged transfers with Reinaldo which were fabulous and he even stopped for us to get some essentials as we arrived quite late. We will defiantly be returning. Albufeira was lovely this was our first visit, absolutely beautiful beach. …

Great sun trap
Lovely apartment in Armacao de Pera. 5 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the beach.
Quiet area with good parking.
Spacious, airy apartment with a great balcony which has sunshine all day.
Very comfortable beds and good furniture.
Has been beautifully decorated and feels very homely.
Good array of kitchen equipment including sharp knives.
The apartment was spotlessly clean.
Great views from the back of the apartment particularly if you enjoy birdwatching.
We saw hoopoes, azure winged magpies, redstarts and fly catchers to name a few.
Being on the 5th floor gives you a great view to the sea and there is always a bit of a breeze which is really welcome on hot days.
Sheila and Michael were very accommodating about us having visitors during our 5 week stay as we weren't sure when they were coming.
Their communication was really good and helpful.
The only slight drawback was no English TV channels but the wifi is good so that can be overcome.
We would definitely recommend the apartment and hope to be back next year. …
