“self catering fully provided for” Our first stay in Bruges and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The red house is in a great location 10 minutes walk from the market and on a small sideroad so there is not a lot of traffic passing. A couple of good bars nearby if you don't want to walk far for some of that wonderful Belgian beer. The house had everything you could need to cook your own meals and everything was spotlessly clean. Also I would point out that taking your own bedding does give you plenty of packing material for bringing back the odd sample bottle. We will be returning as soon as we can.
The Belgians regard their country as one of Europe’s best-kept secrets, and a holiday in Belgium offers much in the way of culture and sophistication. Belgium is a mixture of languages and cultures, the Flemish majority speak Dutch and the Walloons speak French. There are great cities like Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent to explore as well as the beautiful scenery of the Ardennes. The capital Brussels is a mixture of the cosmopolitan and the cosy, and a trip to Belgium would be incomplete without trying its world-famous chocolate.

Fantastically-fantastic holiday apartment
This place was located in a quiet place and perfect location for people who want quiet and peaceful holiday. It is very clean, neat, orderly and it is with lots of facilities. Also, there is a mini sport hall where there are different games for kids and adults. The place is in close proximity to many attractions and facilities. Annie was very helpful, assisted us in many capacities, and she is very hospitable. It is a good area for people to spend their holidays. …

Luxurious holiday cottage Pijpeweg71 near Bruges
Great location, comfortable house
Really nice location in a quiet neighbourhood right on the eastern edge of Bruges. Very easy to get into the centre of Bruges or use this as a base to explore Flanders more widely.
The house is very comfortable and finished to a high standard. Just one piece of guidance. Because one of the bedrooms is accessible only via a walkway above the dining area, I would not recommend this house to anyone bringing very young children. Other than that, it's great. …
VILLA SWING AT GOLF OF DURBUY IN BELGIUM ARDENNES
Great holiday home. Fantastic location! Just a few issues.
We travelled via Eurotunnel and arrived in France at 8 in the morning. Had plenty of time to get to the Villa. I emailed to inform of our estimated time of arrival, but when the owner emailed back, she informed me that the Jacuzzi wasn't working and that it had 'just broken'. We were really upset as that was reason why we booked this villa instead of other cheaper properties! The pictures of the jacuzzi overlooking the glorious view which is used as a unique selling point is quite misleading! I had read other reviews who had stated there was a problem with it, but assumed it would be working as advertised. If I'm honest, we think the jacuzzi hasn't worked in quite a while as there was a lot of tree debris and scum in there. Not something that builds up in just a day!
We continued on our journey but the directions are again misleading. It is NOT in the golf club site but just beyond it. Wasn't a real problem but did take us and extra hour to find! Even the locals weren't sure.
When we finally arrived we realised that it may cause problems for people with mobility problems. We have an11 year old golden retriever that could not manage the 3 winding wooden staircases and had to be carried up and down each and every one, every time! He is 42kgs!!!!! Perhaps this could be mentioned in advertising?
The villa is lovely. Modern, spacious and had everything that was needed. Great terrace by views somewhat obscured due to trees (can't be helped) but perhaps enjoyed more during autumn/winter when the trees are a little thinner.
Bedrooms are a great size! So many bathrooms... bonus. All nice and modern. Had to take our own bed linen to avoid staining/marking the villas duvets and pillows. Quite ironic as they were really badly stained already! The main bedrooms mattress protector was actually quite disgusting! Thank god we did take our own.
There is a sauna on the ground level (great) but it has 2 single beds in it. Not a great room to have to stay in. Luckily there was only 3 of us! Also a garage with table tennis in. Again, great, but it was quite dark and not inviting. Perhaps more games etc could make it more appealing to go down to.
The day of arrival,We decided to cook some pizzas that we had taken with us so we didn't have to go out after a long drive. Oven nice and clean, then went to slice it up to find leftover dried up tomatoes on the chopping board!!!
All this being said, we had an amazing time there. It's so lovely to have space, and apart from one night with a neighbouring villa having a party (why shouldn't they when on holiday?) we loved playing good old board games out on the terrace watching the sun go down. Even though internet was good, we took some anyway just in case. Locality was great. Nearby Barvoux had a couple of nice places to eat, what I'd call pub grub and such lovely staff. Durbuy (not far) was beautiful and full of character. We even crossed into Germany and went to Munchau which is stunning!
All in all this Vila was great and brilliantly located. Stunning area. It's a shame that there were a few issues. The jacuzzi being a big problem. We may not have booked this property as we then travelled to another villa which was equally as big, no jacuzzi but £200 cheaper! I suggest not advertising it as having one as, even from other reviewers, it never seems to work!
Great holiday, great location. If not bothered by the above mentioned, then definitely book it. Would I go back?....yes but I'd take my own mattress protector and pillows as well as bedclothes. …
Fantastic apartment with impeccable host
in addition to the apartment being beautiful, the facilities were excellent. We were on bicycles and had a secure place to store them. There was a washing machine which was very handy. We were very close to the centre of Bruges. Jacques, the host, was wonderful. He was very calm and laid back. He was very thoughtful and available without being intrusive. We could not have asked for more. Thank you, Jacques! …
HOUSE LAKEVIEW: Luxury at a very competitive price
Beautiful home from home
We stayed here for a week and had a lovely, comfortable stay. It was very well equipped and in a beautiful position.
The area's history was fascinating and has a big connection to the UK. Ypres and Bruges are nearby-such beautiful cities to visit.
The beach is very close and there are some lovely restaurants within cycling distance so you can have a beer or 2!!
I would definitely recommend it. …
