Brussels holidays

The style, cuisine, and atmosphere of Brussels are influenced equally by its blend of French and Flemish origins. As a representative of the western European collision between historic grandeur and hip glamourous nightspots, the city has a strong cafe culture, unforgettable restaurants and chocolate shops, and is a destination point for brewery connoisseurs.

Belgium is also the home of some of the world's greatest examples of art nouveau architecture and surrealist art. This is the home of Rene Magritte and Victor Horta, amongst other great names.

Explore the city's African quarter and the famous artistic suburb of Jette. Take a brewery tour and sample some world-renowned Belgian ales. Explore the glittering nightlife and posh shopping areas on Avenue Louise. One of the cultural capitals of Europe, Belgium is a fascinating and indispensable destination on your European adventure. Here are a few recommendations as you make your plans:

  • Take a bicycle tour: Start your exploration of Brussels with a bicycle or walking tour that includes stops at the major sites around the Central Station and the Grand Place.
  • Explore the Musical Instrument Museum: This is an absolute must for music lovers. The museum collection contains over 7,000 instruments and traces music back to its earliest origins.
  • Visit the Justice Palace: The Palace of Justice is one of the most popular architectural attractions in Brussels, which is high praise in light of the many beautiful and fascinating buildings here.
  • Tour the historic home of Victor Horta: Victor Horta, one of the founders of art nouveau architecture, designed and built this extraordinary small home for himself.
  • Visit the Rene Magritte Museum: This museum showcases the major work of one of the master artists of the 20th century, Rene Magritte.
  • See the beautiful cathedrals of Brussels: Visit the Basilica of the Sacred Heart or the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula. Both are worth a look inside for their magnificent arches and peaceful interiors.

As you plan your trip to Brussels, you'll find plenty of beautiful holiday rental options in every quarter. Rent an elegant apartment or condo overlooking the Grand Place or near the Avenue Louise. There are also beautiful terraced apartments with views of the river. No matter what you're looking for or what time of year you arrive, you'll have no trouble finding the perfect place to stay.

Luxurious 3BR ART NOUVEAU apartment - close to CENTER
Amazing!!!!

We loved the apartment, it was really spacious and very well equipped. Our daughter (age 6) would not leave the apartment because she was having too much fun playing with all the toys and climbing the mezzanine. Love to come back again. … see more

Excellent apartment

Very good, clean and warm apartment. Lovely decor and everything you need for a great stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything. Umbrellas were very useful, thank you :) The apartment has very good location and walking distance to the city center, very close to the metro, but we prefer to walk everywhere. We used the recommendations from the owner about cafe/restaurants and shops, discussed about flexibility with check-in/check-out. Kids were happy here. Definitely can recommend this apartment! Good quality and price. Thanks again.see more

Cute flat, good city Center hub

Nice, clean flat. Everything you need in place. The location is great to walk to most things and the Metro is very close by. The only issue was no bed pillows, only throw pillows to sleep on. Had a really good time. … see more

Great location, attractive appartment, some reservation on Kitchen

This location is great for exploring a city that had a very good tram and metro network. the city is stuffed full of great attractions. The appartment was accessed via a lift which I think needs a good service as it is slow and creaks and is temperamental. There are three very good bed rooms and a loft/ attic room which probably good for children or teens but less so adults. The staircase is not great for older people. Bathroom spacious and airy and comfortable. The kitchen layout and equipment is fine for breakfasts and say light cooking and has a large fridge but the space behind the cooking counter meant we found it a bit difficult to prepare a more complex meal. Little cramped for 2 or 3 cooperating. Could have done with one or two more larger pans, an extra chopping board or two and sharper knives - also a corkscrew.. Did not seem to have matts for putting hot pans/bowls on - or at least the plastic ones we found were not clearly to be used for that. Well equipped with glasses and plates but note that not all fitted in the dishwasher. So overall a good week Note that carparking is you have a roof top box is not easy at all near by. Without a box there are many coptions.see more

Amazing stay

First of all let me start by stating how sweet Brigitte was to us. She explained all we needed and was basically the sweetest. The appartment is just like the pictures and the description, nothing we needed was missing. It is very close by to the metro and the location is very close to the city center, also theres a supermarket and a police station close by. The appartment is cozy and beautiful. We had the best time ever in Brussles and this appartment was our best choice. I recommend a 100 per cent. If i ever go back to Brussels i will definitely be back. :)see more
Smartflats L42 503 - 1 Bedroom - EU Quarter
Smartflats: great flat in a decent location- almost

The flat itself was quite spacious, modern, and clean. The key code entry was simple and straightforward. The location is very close to the Arts-Loi metro station, which has many subway options, so it made for easy travel around the city. It is also a pleasant walk to the major shopping and tourist areas of Brussels. The two downsides are: 1) there is a discotheque downstairs so if you are sensitive to noise or not planning to be out dancing the night away, the music until 5 am makes it difficult to sleep in the bedroom. 2) the European Quarter (EU government headquarters) where the flat is located has almost no services (restaurants, shops) open in the evenings or at the weekend so popping out for a quick drink or bite to eat isn’t really possible. You have to head elsewhere in the city. We would stay there again for the flat itself and the ease of transit but might look elsewhere for a more happening neighborhood and quiet night’s sleep.see more
