“Fantastic Chalet in picturesque small town in the Austrian Alps” Excellent and very comfortable house in the middle of the Austrian Alps. Very clean, modern and functional chalet with a great view of the picturesque town of Filzmoos. The house is very well equipped with a very complete kitchen and dinner service. The owners are very reliable and manage very well the administration of this property to make your vacation perfect. Located just 70km form beautiful Salzburg. Highly recommendable.
Austria is a country with scenery beyond compare; spectacular mountains, streams, waterfalls, forests and crystal-clear lakes. The Alps take up roughly half of the country, and offer skiing that is second to none. Add to this a multitude of activities from walking to cycling, golf and swimming and you have the perfect holiday destination. In the season besides skiing, snowboarding, night skiing and sledging are on offer in the Alps or the Inner Salzkammergut. Popular ski resorts include Zell Am See, Eben Im Pongau and Kaprun.
Austrian food is comforting and tasty, from ubiquitous wiener schnitzel to delicious pastries and desserts such as sacher torte and apfelstrudel. In the beautiful city of Salzburg you can enjoy a wonderful Mozart dinner concert, take a horse and carriage ride around the old city, visit the Fortress, the Mirabell Gardens, the Palace or just enjoy the wonderful shopping, the gluhwein and Christmas stalls. Both Salzburg and Vienna are renowned for their musical heritage, with many concerts and celebrations of famous Austrian composers such as Mozart, Strauss, Schubert and Beethoven. Vienna is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, with medieval cobbled streets full of history, lying on the banks of the Danube.

Universum Vienna-Direct on Metro U6
Convenient and well appointed suburban apartment
The owner of this apartment , Yuida, was an excellent communicator, met us on arrival, spent some time with us explaining all the features of the apartment in general and the transport system in particular. Although the apartment is not in the city centre, it is extremely well located for trams, buses and the Metro, all of which are within a easy 5 minutes walk. We stayed 4 days but Yuida recommended we buy a one week transport ticket at the cost of Euros 17.10 which covers all forms of transport and turned out to be excellent advice. The apartment was quiet, spacious, spotlessly clean and well furnished. There was an excellent WIFI connection and a multi channel TV. The kitchen was fully equipped but for visitors that didn't wish to cook there were several nearby restaurants and coffee shops, including Mamfs and for food requirements, a large supermarket, Billa, was only 6 minutes walk away. My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and would happily choose it again should we visit Vienna again in the future. …
Perfect base from which to explore the city
We chose this apartment because it is in a quiet location, very near a park, very near an excellent Spar supermarket, and has a range of eating places within a short walk. Augarten museum is just a few minutes walk away. It is well served for public transport, although we walked everywhere.
As for the apartment, it suited us perfectly. The shower is excellent. Although we didn't cook (we were on holiday after all), the kitchen is well equipped if you want to do your own meals. We just had cereals, bread, cheese, etc, that we bought in the Spar shop which is just a couple of minutes from the apartment. We have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, and would definitely stay there again if we revisit Vienna. In 5 days we only saw about half of the things we wanted to. We combined this stay with cycling the Donauweg from Passau back to Vienna on excellent hired Austrian bikes. …

Anton-Wallner Strasse 5
Excellent location, nice balcony, funky layout
We were initially a bit worried that we might arrive in Austria to find no apartment---there were no reviews, the response rate here on Holiday Lettings was 34%, and the owner asked for a direct bank transfer of the full amount up front (not via the Holiday Lettings website)---but she did agree to let us pay cash on arrival, so that made us feel it was more likely really there. Rest assured, the apartment is there and in an ideal location---it seems the oweners rent often, but must not do much via this website. Personally, I think they'd have far more traffic if they set up the ability to pay via Holiday Lettings---though now that WE know it is legit, we'll be willing to send a bank transfer ahead of time for future stays (we do hope to go back).
Getting ahold of the owner was also a bit diffucult--that response rate was indicative of our experience. In the end we called the phone number in the listing and then used WhatsApp to finalize details. I suggest this to anyone interested in booking this one.
The apartment is in a gret location right in the heart of town. That aspect could not be better. That is THE reason to book here.
We were told that there is parking for the building that is "first come first served" Along the side of the building are about 6 spaces but all but one were blocked off with locked chains (not being used at all, just blocked off). In front of the building are signs that say the parking is for building inhabitants--but it was not clear if that meant those staying in the apartments or those visiting the bussiness on that side. Many of those spaces were blocked by a chain suspended between a poles on tires (so that could be moved). We moved the chain and chanced parking there, leaving a bussiness card from the apartment in the dash board, and had no issues--but were never sure of where we were meant to park. Better instrutions for that would be a really helpful addition to the apartment. The "nearby public parking" was all completely full and the garage runs 16 euros per day if you can get a space.
Getting in was easy, with a lock box on the side of the building---so no need to coordinate an arrival time and second guess traffic, which was very nice.
The apartment itself has both pros and cons:
-Fabulous balcony--bigger than we though based on the photo here. Stays shaded all day, nice views of the mountain, table to eat on and several chairs---we enjoyed it so much we kept getting take-out for meals and just eating there.
-large living room with comfortable sofa and a nice selection of DVDs to watch (came in handy in a heavy rain)
-kitchen was well stocked and I think you could actaully make a fair amount in it if you wanted to (but it is TINY---seriously teeny tiny---you cannot have more than one person in it ever).
-main bathroom can only be accessed via the smaller/kids bedroom (with two single beds). If you had small kids in bed early, you'd have to walk through their room to shower/do laundry/etc. Even with just two adults and a teen that was awkward.
-smaller bathroom (off the living room) is ONLY a toilet. Nowhere to wash hands---so you either have to cut through the bedroom to get to the bigger bathroom to wash up, or wash in the kitchen.
-beds were OK as far as comfort---fine for a couple of nights but not much more. …
