“Old Linthill House Ayton” Just had 3 fantastic nights stay at old linthill house. The building and gardens are magnificent, 3 beautiful bathrooms with showers, four double bedrooms and a room with bunk beds. The dining room is atmospheric and amazing complimented by a large comfortable sitting room. We will definitely be back to sample the beauty and comfort of Old Linthill House

“Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting, thoroughly enjoyable” Booking process easy & professional, property was just as described, fantastic atmosphere, views, facilities. Location ideal for coastal trips, trips to Dartmoor, walks. Town easily accessible. We were a family group with teenage children but would equally suit an all adult group. A wonderful stay

“Fantastic Experience” What an amazing place this is!!!…I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not to write a review of the Observatory Tower because once you have stayed here and told your friends about it everyone will want to stay here and I won’t be able to because it’ll be fully booked!!! We booked for a long weekend at the end of January during some of the worst storms this country has ever witnessed. I can assure you eating a meal and a few drinks at the top of the tower as the gales and rain thunder from the South Western approaches cannot be beaten, we will talk about that that evening for years, and years to come! We unloaded the car outside the property, and then parked. I found street parking no problem just around the corner. Exploring every room was a delight as every floor was decorated and fitted out to the very highest standard and we all fell in love with the place. Falmouth is lovely with plenty of great pubs and places to eat. We visited the Maritime Museum which was very interesting and well worth a few hours. The Lizard was as wild and exhilarating as we expected, as was Mullion Cove. As other reviews have mentioned the steps would not be suitable for everyone as moving around from floor to floor is quite a exertion, but as someone once said……”No pain No gain!” Colin, Tony, Wendy and Wendy.

“Fantastic location and brilliant accommodation” I stayed with 5 friends and the tower was perfect for us, there are a lot of stairs but they were worth climbing, amazing views from the roof, ladder up wasn't really suitable for young children though, the bedrooms were fab, top one is the biggest and coldest, I wasn't cold while I was there at all but the bedroom was draughty because the windows are so old, they could do with more towels and tea towels for large groups, I can't think of any more negatives! the kitchen is modern and has everything, the welcome hamper was nice as well, the tower is on the bank of the river yet only 2mins walk from Bettys tea rooms / Jamie Olivers and all the shops, there were three restaurants within 500m, I would love to go back, there was a really nice solid / historic feel to the place. There's a big park behind where the museum is with tame squirrels running about, because of that you don't feel like you're in the middle of the action but you are, it was a bit noisy when you were in bed with traffic going over the bridge and drunk people going home on the Saturday night so take ear plugs if you're not used to the sounds of a city. We all said we felt safe walking about at night and there's cctv in the ally down the side of the bridge. The entrance wasn't easy to find, ring Mike for directions before you set off, we all missed the turning first time round, it looks like park gates because they are park gates and there's a narrow cobbled lane down to the water, you drive down there. Hope that helps you decide, I don't see how anyone could not have a brilliant time.
