“brilliantly equipped and great location” We rented this farmhouse to celebrate my aunts 70th birthday. There was more than enough space for all 14 of us. The kitchen and rest of the property was well equipped and the owners have thought of everything. Nothing was to much trouble, and the owner allowed us to drop things off the night before and put up birthday decorations for us before we arrived. We were particularly pleased with the dinning table which seated us all comfortably for our celebration meal. The decor and cleanliness is of a very high standard. The price is more than reasonable considering the size, location and the fact that laundry was included. The location is beautiful.
We could have not asked for anywhere better to stay, and wished we were staying longer. I will definately be recommending this self catering accomodation to others.
“Ideal for families with young children who want all the comforts of a home in a quiet location” We travelled with our 3 young children aged 5 years, 3 years and the youngest being 7 months old. This house has been refurbished to a very high standard, it has all the equipment you would need, it is like a home away from home. The kitchen in the house is great. The pool is fantastic. You do need a car to stay in this house but supermarkets, beaches and restaurants are within a short drive. We loved the quiet location. We would definitely recommend this house.
“Perfect holiday home, everything you could possibly need” Beautiful, spacious holiday home in an idyllic location.
We spent 4 nights there over the the May school break with extended family and it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy all Anglesey has to offer, only wishing we where there for longer.
“Great House, Great Golf” 4 friends stayed here for a weekend to play a few games of golf at the local courses. The house was perfect and exactly what we needed, plenty of space (both inside and outside), comfortable rooms and beds, games to keep you amused (the table tennis proved popular) and a seriously good upstairs shower and all the facilities you need for a weekend away.
There are several golf courses within 45 mins drive from the house (you will need a car to stay here) all of great quality and although there isn't much in the little village (only a butchers), within a 5-10 min drive you can get everything you need.
Will definitely be coming back again
“First Class!” Can't praise this place enough! We went mid-September on a cycling holiday with a group of friends (12 people) and it proved to be a wonderful way to wind down and enjoy the last of the summer heat. The accommodation was excellent, with very much a French feel throughout the bathrooms and ground floor. When not cycling, the outdoor swimming pool and games room provided us with lots of entertainment and space to relax. Gill and Mark were brilliant hosts and advised us on some great places to eat locally, not too expensive either. So if you're after a relaxing summer, and looking to holiday with family and friends, you'd struggle to find much better than this. First class!
“Animals and wide open spaces, great for kids and adults” The bunkhouse is an architecturally interesting, comfortable, and thoughtfully outfitted place to stay (I mean, how often do you find a rural cottage that actually has sharp knives and a good frying pan?), and the location is just perfect. It's on a working farm, where the kiddos bounced around feeding the ducks, saying hello to the hairy coos, and throwing a ball for the dog. The deck also looks out over kilometers of the river valley, and one could just sit and watch the sheep and red deer and clouds for a long time.
It's just a few miles from Newtonmore, and so easily accessible by train + taxi--or rather it would have been if the local taxi weren't on holiday. Roy, the owner, saved us with his pickup truck and kind spirit--he was extremely accommodating and thoughtful, making sure we managed to have the kind of holiday weekend we had been hoping for while also somehow keeping the farm running at the same time.
It turns out that hairy coos are not only winsome but delicious, although I'm sure vegans would also feel welcome.
So all in all, highly recommended either for an extended stay, or for a quick "Highlands in a nutshell" kind of weekend.
