“A cosy cottage in perfect location” We had a wonderful stay at number eight. The cottage with it's private garden is very cosy and the location in the pretty little village of Chadlington is perfect for daytrips in the Cotswolds and surroundings. The cottage had everything you need for a comfortable stay with a fully equipped kitchen and a private garden with patio set. The on street parking was just around the corner and easy to access. Tony and Ruth were very nice and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings!

“Gorgeous Location, Amazing Hosts” We booked a week at Cavendish Cottage with the intention of taking our son to Alton Towers to celebrate his birthday and to explore the gorgeous surrounding countryside and attractions. The cottage was lovely, and very recently finished so everything was essentially brand new. The kitchen was great and well-equipped, although families note there is only a teeny freezer section in the fridge, so not really possible to stock up as such. The quality of the fixtures and fittings was excellent and the owners have done an amazing job on the finish. The beds were comfortable, although we didn't use the duvets as we took our own as we always find cottage ones far too heavy. The bathrooms were well finished and it was nice to have an en-suite each. Overall, we had a good stay but for us there were pros and cons: Pros - The owners. They are lovely, warm, friendly people both of whom were very happy to help as needed and took time to take care of any little issues. they were also very happy to look after our dog on two occasions whilst we made visits that weren't going to work with the dog. They charged a fair rate for this and our dog had a wonderful time. They also gave us some good advice on where to eat, where to visit and where to walk with the dog. The cottage finish. It is very nicely finished and the kitchen was great. Location. Close by to Matlock, a town in which we spent a lot of time. Lots of dog-friendly cafes, a superb park and some great shops. We even came home with a carload of beautiful antiques. Would highly recommend. Cons: Privacy. We felt the cottage lacked the privacy we prefer as all of the downstairs doors face the drive to the owners cars, so there was no wandering around in your undies if that's your thing! We were also unable to secure the doors open on the warm days so had to used logs to prop them open. Dryer. the property lacks a tumble drier which in itself isn't a massive issue, but if you're here with a family and need to keep on top of dirty clothes etc it's nigh on impossible to get them dry. There's an airer, but no radiators, and you can't drape things on the heated floor (!) and we found it really tricky to get stuff dry. We would recommend Marsh Hill Farm at the bottom of the lane for breakfast. Dog-friendly (ie. you can take them inside), super friendly, great local produce and served with a smile. We also ate a Stones in Matlock, which was delicious and very well priced. We also enjoyed the walk down to the river with the dog, but wear long trousers! In the summer, stinging nettle-tastic. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will 100% return to the area - it's a beautiful part of the world, although I think we would look for a property with a little more privacy.

“Luxurious Modern 5 Star Experience see within Historic Grounds” From the moment you arrive at the impressive entrance you know you are going to enjoy your stay. You enter the pin code and the security gates open to allow you into the expansive gardens of The Old Rectory with its beautiful lawns, flower beds, waterfall with stream and pond. The accommodation as far better than described and was most luxurious with a very high end fit out. The welcome pack was simply amazing with locally sourced produce and treats. The best we have ever seen in our extensive travels. We explored with great interest, the historic area behind the Cwtch. Particularly the old church on site and we would have loved to attend the service had we still been there. We visited several of the local towns and thought how lucky we had been to pick this place to stay as there was so much to do in the close proximity. This has been a wonderfull experience and will remain as one of our highlights of our UK adventure.

“Great cottage” We booked this cottage for our stay to attend a wedding in the area. The cottage is lovely and cosy and has everything you need. The owners are very welcoming ensuring we had milk for tea/coffee on our arrival along with a beautiful home made cake. Would highly recommend if you want to get away from busy daily life, in a great spot for walking and just relaxing.

“Perfect location for a quiet time with great accessibility to Belfast and surrounding areas” David was very helpful prior to our arrival and was there to greet us. He was on hand whenever we needed something. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. No direct sunlight comes in because of the orientation but it is still bright inside. All rooms are nicely furnished and cosy. Kitchen is well equipped. Basic supplies were there for our arrival which was helpful. Bathroom fine. Shower is not powerful but adequate. Interesting walks to Giant's ring and around Shaw's Bridge. Tesco quite close too.

“Lovely secret hideaway!” I was so pleased I found this wonderful cottage in the middle of the dales in The Peak District. Jane's hospitality was spot on - a fab welcome and she was always around if I needed anything. A beautiful part of the world and I would certainly stay again. The perfect place for some r&r!

“Amazing place!” We've just got back from a weekend away here. What a pleasant treat! Beautiful cottage with high specification, kitchen was so easy to use. The electric beds were ideal, as I'm feeding my baby boy so that really helped. Lots of space and Karen could not have been more helpful prior to and during our stay. The location is bliss, tucked into a little village with gorgeous surrounding countryside. Definitely returning! I don't give raving reviews lightly, this was truly great.
