“Amazing bolt hole in a super location” Everything about the chapel was brilliant. The warm welcome from the neighbors (hello Kev ), the beautiful and tranquil setting and the great village pub..amazing food and lovely staff. The farm shop at Wing Hall is superb, selling gorgeous local food, it made me wonder why I had brought supplies from home! One note of caution: we are reasonably fit but the hill on bikes from both directions between Wing and Rutland Water was an absolute lung buster...but that first pint once done will have been well earned

“Fantastically well equipped, comfortable, homely property in a peaceful location” 'The Chancel' is a fantastic hideaway property perfect for exploring beautiful Dorset. The house is tucked off the beaten track away from busy town centres and is a perfect place for getting away from it all. There are several towns within short driving distance with supermarkets and pubs and the beach at Lulworth Cove is less than 10 minutes drive away, Corfe Castle is about 15 minutes away and you can be in the large resort town of Weymouth in about half hour. The Chancel is superbly equipped with all the pots, pans and crockery you would ever need, a dishwasher makes cleaning up a breeze and having young children we found the washing machine invaluable - there was even washing powder in the cupboards! The comfy sitting room has a pair of uber comfy sofas perfect for lounging on and watching the TV or a DVD ( plenty of films to choose from if you had a rainy day or just wanted a day in ) We found the hi fi system particularly useful as I personally like to have music on pretty much constantly! The chancel has 2 lovely clean bath rooms and a pair of power showers - we were very thankful of those as it was 34 degrees outside during our stay. In fact the only thing we can think of that we would have benefited from would have been a couple of electric fans. We will certainly be visiting again next year if not sooner and will be booking The Chancel again for our stay. We must admit it was a little eery walking through the old church yard to get to the house but we're happy to report no spooky goings on! - just adds to the charm of the place and I'm sure it has a fascinating history. ( the neighbours are dead quiet!! - sorry I couldn't resist! )

“Loved it and can't wait to return.” The converted Chapel is beautifully transformed into a wonderful home in a delightful setting and the owners have thought of simply everything you could possibly wish for and need. We returned home last Saturday having enjoyed our best ever week in the Forest which is a huge compliment as we have been going every year for about 22 years. We came this time with our daughter and her fiance and walked and cycled around 70 plus miles all from the Chapel, the weather although slightly inclement did not dampen our stay and in fact gave us the excuse to light the fabulous log burner and light a few candles whilst enjoying evenings in after cooking with a good bottle of wine snuggled up on the three lovely squiggy sofas reading or watching films on the big flat screen TV, so cosy and homely, neighbours were very friendly and all in all I can say I would move there tomorrow. I hope Doreen continues to let the Chapel as this has now become our firm favourite.

“A beautiful appointed and maintained property set in stunning gardens” A beautiful converted chapel, with many original features and extensive garden to the rear of the property complete with summerhouse and stream. The chapel has a well equipped kitchen and utility room complete with washer, dryer, dishwasher large fridge freezer and all important wine/beer fridge. There are 4 generous sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with excellent facilities. They have thought of most things to make your stay a pleasurable one, they have an extensive supply of up to date DVD's and a good CD collection. There is a log burner in the lounge and a plentiful supply of logs complete with operating instructions. The garage has been converted into a games room and ideal for older children in warmer weather. The beds are made up for your arrival and all the bedding is of excellent quality and so are the towels it is a pleasure to stay there. We have just had our third stay at the chapel and look forward to another relaxing visit next year.

“Idilic.” Beautiful setting, if you want peace and quite, this is the place for you. Nick and Derek have done a fantastic job on the restoration. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars, the bedroom was not to our liking, low ceiling. But had a superb week exploring the area.

“Don't hesitate to stay here, it's perfection!” We spent 2 weeks here and loved every second. The place is an incredible blend of old and new- modern finishing that respects the original building and though spacious seems really cosy. The top back bedroom was a particular favourite as it comes with a balcony! The view of the river is beautiful!! All in all this place was more than we could have hoped for and the 7 of us who stayed are already planning another visit!

“Beautiful house in a wonderful setting” The house was warm and wecoming for our party of 3. The main dining room could house many more and had a piano with great acoustics. We were within easy walking distance of 3 distillaries, (Ardbeg had an excellent restaurant, Lagavullan had excellent whisky). The sea was a few minutes away on foot. We had lots of country walks and explored much of Islay, though there is still lots more to see. We loved Islay! The house retained the original features of the church. The step up to the kitchen might make it difficut for people with disabilities, but 2 of the bedrooms are on the groundfloor, and we found it excellent in every way.

“The only place to stay in Chester” This is the only place we'll ever stay in Chester. It's warm, spacious, comfortable and only 10 minutes walk from the city center! Every room is finished to a very high standard, the beds were super-comfy (even for those that have bad backs) and the living room is the perfect place to relax. Amy and her family are very accommodating (even when your father leaves his Kindle behind on check-out). The log-burner is the icing on the cake after a cold winter walk to the Christmas Market.
