“Perfect countryside retreat with plenty to do for adults and children” The Byre is a stunning brand new barn conversion (July 2018), very comfortable and modern yet retaining its rustic charm, renovated and decorated in impeccably good taste. It forms part of a small collection of barn conversions and cottages surrounded by beautiful countryside on Low Moor Farm, where you will also have use of a tennis court, fishing lake and children's play area including a trampoline. With stables in the grounds, we loved visiting the horses (horse-riding at the farm isn't possible, but there are other horse-riding stables a short drive away if you wish to ride). There is plenty to do in the area, for adults and children alike. To name but a few... gorge scrambling, canoeing and via ferrata at How Stean Gorge; quad biking, landrover off-roading and clay pigeon shooting at Yorkshire Outdoors; horse-riding at Boltby Stables; Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens; rock-climbing and hill-walking in many places in the area; shopping, cafes and restaurants in Thirsk, Northallerton and York. Or just relaxing at the farm. The owners, Karen and Jeff, are a lovely couple who are friendly but discrete, and always happy to help. They left a very generous welcome pack and made our stay really enjoyable. We stayed two weeks, and didn't want to leave! We highly recommend it!

“Beautiful barn conversion in an ideal location” We enjoyed a lovely short break at the Old Shippen, receiving a warm welcome from the very hospitable hosts. The barn was ideally situated for visiting many local attractions - Fountains Abbey, Lightwater Valley and Forbidden Corner, to name a few. The barn was beautifully decorated and was equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The kids enjoyed the onsite facilities in particular the tennis court, trampoline, play park and our regular visits from the resident dog Tangles. The accommodation is ideal for anyone with mobility problems - I was on crutches at the time of our visit and the owner Karen was very thoughtful providing a shower chair and wheelchair to make my stay more comfortable. We look forward to visiting again.

“perfect” Peak District Barn Conversion: a wonderful holiday retreat, stylish and architectural, yet comfy and a real home. We stayed at High Ridge Barn during five days in august, 2018. It is a surprisingly complete and very well designed cottage with plenty of room for eight people; three bathrooms; a very complete kitchen, open plan with dining area with superb views. All a fine combination of fresh and tasteful modern design and functionality with warm features such as sumptuous sofa's, pillows, beautiful oak flooring, luxuriously large and comfortable beds and exquisite decoration. All high end but tastefully done and non-intrusive. The owners are very kind and really made us feel most welcome. In the outside area the views of the wonderful Peak district continue; it allows for perfect breakfasts in the morning sun and al fresco dining. A fine bbq, a sauna, a large terrace, a lawn with the possibility to improve one's golf swings. Walks into the surrounding countryside start at the doorstep. Although we did not bring a pet ourselves, we could see dogs are very welcome, based on e.g. special amenities for them and the enthusiasm the owners displayed in this respect. The house is very clean and contains everything one could wish for. Pleasant surprises were the extremely fast wifi, the continuous hot water supply and details such as boot heating in the entrance/cloakroom. A splendid extra after long autumn and winter walks we imagined. Buxton is nearby, a wonderful town with a.so an opera house an fine independent shops. Furthermore some very nice restaurants(the owners know the area and are happy to inform you about the possibilities). A perfect base to explore and enjoy The Peak District and to relax! We certainly recommend High Ridge Barn to others and plan to come back to it.

“Beautiful Whitstable” What can I say apart from, a beautiful barn. Joanne was amazing host, nothing was to much trouble. Perfect for a pooch had plenty of outdoor space & so safe. The accommodation was so comfy we hardly wanted to move. Thank you for a lovely holiday we’ll definitely be back

“Lovely English countryside living at Monkton Barn” We had a delightful 2 night stay at Monkton Barn over the bank holiday weekend. The host Charlotte was very responsive and provided lots of information prior to our stay about how to find the property and recommendations for things to do in the area. The main reason for our trip was primarily a visit to Longleat safari park and being so close was a real benefit. However we also enjoyed a local pub lunch and walks around the property. The barn itself is very well equipped, the bedroom is spacious, with a high ceiling and a really comfortable bed. Charlotte provided a variety of things for our breakfast, including delicious bread, eggs, bacon, muesli as well as juice and milk. We loved the serenity of the barn and had a very relaxing time. We also absolutely adored the gardens, which were blooming with flowers and beautiful grasses and hedges. And to really make us feel like we were in the countryside, there were also ducks, dogs, sheep and horses which entertained our 18 month old son for hours! We would highly recommend Monkton Barn for a relaxing slice of delightful English countryside living.

“Perfect, a well equipped property with enclosed rear garden.” We arrived to find a wonderful property with everything we could expect and more, clean and well presented, the enclosed rear lawn was safe for our small dog and our young granddaughter. An added bonus is the pub with a restaurant in the village, good beer and food. A quiet village overall with little traffic. We are planning another visit this year. Highly recommended.

“Perfect” Booked a 2 night break here for myself , brother and mum. Accommodation perfectly fitted the needs of my mum who is disabled and uses a walking frame , the wet room shower was great . “A Superb holiday venue.” The location of Medlars Barn is beautifully peaceful and tranquil. The accommodation is in good condition and well quipped and furnished to a high standard. Fiona and her husband keep a low profile but are very friendly and are at hand if needed. Medlars is conveniently located to many interesting places to visit, whether your interest is for country or seaside, and particularly for walking. We are interested in gardening so found Great Dixter and Hole Park within easy reach of Medlars. We took the opportunity to visit, amongst others, Rye, Dungeness, Tenterden and the vineyard at Chapel Down. Thank you Fiona for great week.
