“Perfect celebration venue” I wanted somewhere to spend my special birthday weekend with friends and Wellwood lodge was recommended to me. I didn't look anywhere else after viewing this place on line and I was right not to as this was absolutely the perfect place. The house was spotless and accommodated the 10 of us (plus toddler) easily. Every bedroom is really well sized with plenty of storage and there's enough space between each to not be disturbing anyone if you're an early riser - or a late bed goer! We catered for ourselves both nights and found the facilities to be outstanding.The kitchen is roomy, well laid out, fantastically well equipped and leads onto the very spacious dining room where we wiled away many an hour! The layout of the table makes it a really sociable area. The huge living area was brilliant and the real centre of the house for our weekend - though you always found someone just chilling in the Conservatory! What I also loved was how 'remote' you felt yet Buxton town centre is literally just a 15/20 minute walk down the road. I had an absolutely fantastic birthday weekend hugely helped by being in such a lovely house that we all immediately felt at home in. (Oh and having a freshly made loaf of bread baking away for you on arrival was a very nice touch!!)
