“Excellent” The apartment is part of a larger house but still very private. Plenty of space for two people, extremely clean and very well equipped with all you need. Beautiful garden and very well kept. The owner, Marion, was absolutely lovely and gave us lots of tips on things to do and places to eat. We would definitely come back!

“Thoughtfully modernised to be very comfortable.” One of the most comfortable holiday cottages we have ever stayed in, and certainly the best equipped. It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into making it so comfortable. It is a great location for just putting your boots on and walking out the door. We walked along the shore from Cuan to Easdale and on up the hill for fantastic views of Mull. We also caught the ferry to Luing and spent a say exploring the island. A little further afield Kerrera and the gardens at Arduaine were also highlights.

“Family holiday” This is the 3rd time we have been to Atlantic bay cottage. We always have a great time here visiting the Isle of Mull, Luing, Easdale, Oban and Glencoe. The cottage is spacious and has a beautiful view of the sea. Our children enjoys exploring the rock pools and playing cricket in the garden. A fab family holiday.

“Fantastic House, good location and perfect peace and quiet” Stayed at Tigh Ban Lek for a few days as a short break to get away from things. It was great. The house had everything we needed and was in a great setting - the views are just amazing and it was so quiet. Travelled a fair amount in Scotland and this was one of the best places we've ever stayed, definitely highly recommended!

“Hard to imagine a more idyllic holiday setting” We have just spent two weeks (September 2014) at Ambrisbeg Cottage. We have lost count of our visits - must be 7 or 8 by now, and in all seasons. This surely bears testament to our sense of satisfaction with the property, its setting, and not least our hosts, Cathy and Robert, who are ever helpful and obliging.

“Lovely place for a quiet holiday” Enjoyed our stay at Snug. Took awhile to find it maybe they should say it is up the lane next to the Bowling Green as the the name of the lane is now missing. Only thing missing was a pint glass which we purchased from a Charity Shop and left for the benefit of others. Had great holiday enjoyed our walks to the local pub (about a mile) but was worth it for the welcome and excellent food espically at the Villagers Royal.

“A great house in a great setting.” Grandparents, parents and 3 young children all had a fantastic holiday. The house was very comfortable with lots of room for the children to play and relaxing space for the adults. We loved eating in the dining room with its scenic views and also the landing room and balcony - it was a joy to watch the ever changing weather patterns especially with a glass of wine in the evening! The children enjoyed the garden and the walks to the jetty for exploring.the loch shore and deer watching in the evening. We were all able to explore the are - running, walking, sightseeing - a very beautiful area.

“5 Star property in a 5 star location” This was our 2nd visit to Fearnach Bay House as a family (2 children 8 & 6) and we can't wait to return! - It is a modern, stylish well equipped property in a beautiful quiet loch side location on the west coast of Scotland. The house is truly 5 star including under floor heating, flat screen TV, wood burning stove and plentiful supply of logs, modern well equipped kitchen and open plan living all decorated to a very high standard. The location is truly special too, set at the side of the loch, complete with its own rowing boat, lots of mountains and tracks to explore on your doorstep and access to a number of lochs to fish in. Finally the exacting service (including catering if you want it) and high quality standards offered by the owners is second to none. Fully recommended.

“Very beautiful & very comfortable house, stunning views from windows, beach & nearby play park ideal for children.” We spent 4 days in Cragowlet House East & cannot fault a thing. The owners Brain and Nancy have worked so hard to make the house perfect. We had plans to go for away days during our stay but actually appreciated relaxing in the house and garden instead. There is a little beach across the road which was perfect for rock-pooling & skimming with the children. We also tried a little fishing and Brian was kind enough to lend us some fishing gear. There was also a newly furbished childrens' play park nearby you can get to by foot and a gazebo for parents to sit in & enjoy the stunning views while the children play. We hope to stay again soon as we would definately go back to Cragowlet.

“A fantastic little cottage in a beautiful and unspoilt location.” The accommodation consists of an end-terraced two bedroomed whitewashed cottage right on the bank of the Crinan Canal. The owners are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible, to the extent of providing scones or cakes when you arrive which is always very welcome after a long journey. We have stayed at this accommodation three times now in the last two years and this Christmas we will be going again, we like it so much. We almost feel like it is a second home to us! Our two boys who are 8 and 14 also love it there, particularly because there is a PS2 in the property with a selection of games, and I am told there is now Wi-fi too. There are also board games and a selection of books. The property itself is not large but it feels like home. The galley kitchen has everything you need to make meals and even do some baking, we have never wanted for anything. There is a washing machine and the oven is an electric fan oven and a ceramic hob over. The only thing missing is a dishwasher but to be honest there just isn't room for one. The cottage has an open fire which is always welcome in the evenings, even in the summer, and there is additional electric heating in all rooms. The location is perfect, right on the banks of the Crinan canal and we love to see the yachts and boats going by as they negotiate the numerous locks on the canal. There is a tow path which goes all the way from Ardrishaig to Crinan which is great for cycling. There are two adult mountain bikes provided at the cottage and the cycling in the Knapdale area is fantastic, especially for children as there are not too many hills in the immediate area (bring your own childrens’ bikes or hire them locally). There is a beach at Crinan Harbour (not to be confused with Crinan itself) which is supposed to be good but to be honest whenever we've been there we've found it to be muddy so we didn't stay long. Further afield there is Tarbert which is a traditional fishing village, and at West Loch Tarbert you can catch the ferry to Islay and Jura, and there are ferries to Arran too. There are two good hotels in the immediate area, the Crinan Hotel which does good seafood I am told, and the Cairnbaan Hotel. There are also more hostelries in Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig. There is a good-sized Co-op at Lochgilphead where you can buy everything you need, even fire wood. There is a lot of history in the area dating back to neolithic times, with numerous sites of standing stones, burial mounds and cup and ring marked stones. You can take boat trips from Crinan to see the Corryvreckan whirlpool on the Sound of Jura, or go whale watching or fishing. If you like spinning for mackerel the pier at Tarbert is the best place but beware of the seals who steal your catch off your line if you’re not careful! In short, Cairnbaan Cottage is an ideal property for small families who like the outdoors and we will definitely be back!
