“Beautiful family log cabin in stunning peaceful location - sheer bliss!” We have just returned from a few blissful days staying at the Ben Lui Log Cabin in Loch Awe. The cabin is very comfortable and has just been renovated with a kitchen that has absolutely everything you need, the open plan design is very cosy with dining table and sitting room with TV/DVD if required.
My kids loved the triple bunk room with a fantastic huge window that overlooks Loch Awe just 50 meters away with free fishing rights for cabin guests. The view is spectacular and well worth the 2 hour drive from Glasgow. The heating was very welcome on the rainy day we had to keep us cosy and there were free games supplied to keep us amused.
The double bedroom had a great recess area under the wardrobe where our dog crate could fit into and our little pooch was very happy indeed as a home from home.
There is also lovely patio doors that open onto a full length balcony supplied with table and bench for eating outdoors again with beautiful views and very peaceful watching the kids and dog play in the surrounding garden area.
The log cabin site has a brilliant community centre that has a restuarant and bar and also offers a takeaway service to eat in your cabin. The menu is varied and at reasonable prices, highly recommend the Surf and Turf or the Mixed Grill, very tasty after exploring the Dalavich Oakwood Trail or Avich Falls not far from the cabin site where you can let your dog run free along with the children.
The whole place was of a high standard and felt safe and welcoming. We will definately return very soon as it is a special place to escape from city life.

Kilchurn Suite 3
This suite was a home from home, it had absolutely everything. Helen, the owner was lovely and very helpful. Scenery overlooking Loch Awe was beautiful. Kilchurn Castle a 3min drive or roughly 20-25min walk worth a visit. As was St.Conans Kirk, 5min from suites. Local pub Ben Cruachan was lovely with balcony overlooking loch. Very relaxed, chilled time away from city, pity couldn't stay longer. Will return. …
Fyne Lochside Cabin
The most amazing place, best holiday ever.
The cabin was more than I could have imagined, it was the perfect get away that I wanted, escaping from the world. The setting is beautiful and I think this cabin is the best in location. Not only clean and comfortable but little essentials left like washing up liquid, soap, loo roll etc. lovely bed waking with a view of the loch. The hot tub is amazing! Booking and communication fantastic,. What makes this place is the community of Dalavich, I felt like a local myself. Irene will help you and is lovely and chris who has a few jobs, is just so lovely and has loads of information and help and drove after me when he found a ten pound note I had dropped! I hired a boat and loved the loch view grill. Brian and Sheila are so lovely. Ive never experienced anything like this place and will be booking this cabin again, we all really fell in love with it. THANKYOU for our stay! …
Cottage for 2 with Loch Awe just a 5 min walk
All of my family enjoyed being in the holiday cottage and we all slept amazingly well as the beds are really comfy. There is a beautiful veiw from our windows and the sunsets are amazing. We all enjoyed playing the game switch 16 and everyone loved the puzzles. It was really helpful how there was a book telling us fun walks and places to go.
Some suggested improvements would be a washing machine (more useful than the full-size dishwasher which takes at least 3 meals to fill, by which time you've run out of cutlery!).
Secondly, it was a bit annoying to have to pay extra for water and electricity at the end of the week. It was only £8 (we were there in August), but this should have been folded into the rental price.
Final point worth making is that, while the cottage is in a gorgeous, peaceful place, it takes 30 mins in both directions to get to a main road via winding, narrow lanes. So not ideal if you are looking for a break from driving and you don't want to spend the whole week in and around the cottage. …
Kilchurn Lochside Cabin
Brilliant relaxing stay
Firstly I need to apologise for taking sooo long to review the lovely stay we had here, I have not had access to my emails until now.
Firstly the cabin was very clean and great size, 2 bedrooms were very fresh and clean the beds were very comfortable and I for one had a great nights sleep. The kitchen area had everything you needed and the equipment was fit for purpose sharp utensils and plenty of crockery. The seating area was comfortable enough but to be honest we didn't spend much time there.
Myself and my friend spent a wonderful 3 nights here, there is plenty to keep you occupied or not, lovely walks, a social club with gorgeous food and friendly staff. We also hired a power boat and explored the islands in Loch Awe the scenery was breathtaking.
It is definitely worth the £60 for the use of the hot tub it was so relaxing. I also asked for the hot tub to be set up for us arriving and I wasn't disappointed.
I would definitely recommend and hopefully be back soon. …
Our 4 nights stay was really good. The place was very relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The owner responds to my query quickly. …
