Loch View
Brilliant

If you are looking for the relaxing holiday this is the one you have to choose. Stunning views from the lodge, very quiet location and the loch on your door but only 20 min away from Oban which can be access very easy by car. The lodge is clean and everything is there for you. nice included area outside for dogs and children to play. we really enjoyed our stay.see more
THE KNOWE UPPER, all first floor, electric fire, off road parking, shared
Fantastic quality accommodation, with nice touches of attention to detail.

Ideal base for great hill walking. The Knowle Upper was very spacious, owners clearly take pride in the building, really couldn't fault it. Would highly recommend, very reasonably priced. … see more
Ben View
We had a lovely stay at Ben View - we were made very welcome and the cabin was very clean and well cared for.

We loved our stay at Ben View and would recommend it to anyone. Lovely, friendly owners and a super spot for playing on the beach, skimming stones and enjoying the scenery. We spotted a lot of wildlife during our stay - a real boon for our 10-year-old son. We really enjoyed our visit to Arduaine Gardens and the sandy beach at Ganavan Sands. We would also recommend the walk up to McCaig's tower in Oban for the beautiful view over the bay and also Saint Conan's Kirk near Ben Cruachan.see more
Mountain View
Quiet peaceful home from home with added panache

Mountain View was set in the most idyllic location. Very peaceful and entirely what the doctor ordered for a break to celebrate retirement. The surrounding views of Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan were awe inspiring. Even the local hoodlums were fun (the chickens) Fiona and Ian, the owners, whilst on site were completely unobtrusive.see more
Brolas
Perfect setting with everything you need

We loved this place, it was a fabulous place to spend a week with the family and our dogs. The cottage is spacious with everything you could need for your stay. We were 5 people and 3 dogs, there was plenty of room for us all. The location is good, you are in a quiet area with no one to bother you. The owner pointed out to us that you could hear traffic from one side of the garden but this was honestly not an issue, it was barely there unless you sat in silence trying to hear it. The house is perched on a hillside, you can walk down the private road to Loch Etive, it takes only 10 minutes. (Be aware, it is all uphill on the way back so you'll be puffing if you are unfit like me, lol!) There is a village shop a mile away and there's supermarkets at Oban which is a 20 minute car drive. Oban also has plenty of touristy shops, takeaways, pubs etc. You will need a car to get around and see the sights unless you are prepared to walk miles and miles! We visited Oban, Inverary (including the Jail), Fearnoch Forest Walks, took a boat trip from Connel, visited Kilchurn Castle, visited a lovely beach at Ganavan Bay and went searching for Beavers at Knapdale. All this was when most things were closed because of Covid, there was still plenty to do and everything was dog friendly except for the boat trip (1 of us stayed behind and chilled for a morning instead) The layout of the cottage is quirky but we loved this! As the place used to be 2 cottages and is knocked into 1 you have 2 staircases to the upstairs bedrooms. Beware the scary stairs though!! I fell on my backside coming down the steep stairs and my daughter slipped twice coming down, they are lethal! You are pre warned about these stairs, take heed, they are not suitable for small children or anyone a bit unfirm on their feet. We appreciated the stair gates, these kept the dogs downstairs nicely. Speaking of dogs, there is a massive entrance porch with a stone floor - perfect for muddy paws! We stuck our dog beds in there and let the dogs dry off before letting them into the kitchen and sun room with us later at night, that worked really well. We used the sun room most of the time and barely went in the main living room, it was just so lovely to sit in there with the views of the mountains and loch. There is a washer and dryer in the porch plus lines to hang things up to dry - very welcome in the lovely Scottish rain! The kitchen had everything we needed, including a microwave/toaster/oven/kettle/fridge etc. I think there was a large freezer in the porch too but we never used that. The downstairs bathroom had a shower and small bath with plenty of piping hot water. I like a bath, hubby likes a shower, so it was lovely to have both. The cottage was mainly clean except certain little areas that could do with some attention, for example, the top window on the landing up the scary stairs was cobwebby and full of dead flies - not a major deal to me but more fussy people might take offence. We found someones left over litter and a tennis ball under furniture in the living room, no big deal really but it shows the place might not have been hoovered as thoroughly as it could have. These are very small points, overall we were very happy with the place. There is a lovely large garden wrapped around the cottage which offers the most wonderful views. The garden is fenced all the way round but I was terrified my biggest dog would hop over the fence and go chasing the local sheep as the fence isnt very high - this just meant the dogs had to be watched whenever outside, that was difficult with 3 dogs and a wrap around garden. Thankfully our week passed without an incident! We had a 15 year old with us so WIFI was the most important thing ever (to her) The wifi here worked pretty well ( much better if you sit in the sun room than if you sit int he lviing room. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was ideal for our needs. If you are doggy people and dont mind an older property with its knocks and scrapes this place is perfect, if you want modern sterile living, it wont be for you.see more
