The Bramleys is an ideal base whether you wish to explore or relax and enjoy the surroundings; not far from the Quantocks, the Brendon Hills or Exmoor National Park it is a lovely comfortable cottage to come home to at the end of the day. The property has recently been and awarded 4 Stars by Visit Britain. The Bramleys is a completely self-contained single-storey cottage which is attached to the owners house at one end. The cottage is comprised of a light and airy living-dining room, two spacious bedrooms, both of which can be made up as double (super-king size) or twin beds, a fitted kitchen, and a bathroom which has a bath and separate shower. The Bramleys does not have any steps from the car park to the property and is completely level access throughout. The Bramleys kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and electric oven with hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A television, DVD player and CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Bramleys is fitted with night storage heating. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. The cottage is equipped with salt and pepper mills and some cleaning materials to get you started and one or two toilet rolls will also be provided. Chapel Knap can accommodate up to 7 guests plus cot (available on request). There are three bedrooms on the first floor; one double (with king-sized bed), one twin room, and a family room with a king-sized double bed plus a single. Halsecombe Cottage is a delightful detached bungalow that was built in the 1920s. It is situated on the outskirts of Porlock and occupies an enviable position tucked into the lower slopes of Porlock Hill. A main feature of Halsecombe is the stunning view of Porlock Bay which can be enjoyed whilst you are relaxing in the living room and watching the ever changing light on the Bristol Channel, or you can look across to the old orchard opposite where red deer can frequently been be seen grazing. Entrance is via a small porch into the living room, the kitchen has a dining table and there are two bedrooms - one double and one twin. The family bathroom is situated at the end of the hall, which has a shower over the bath. Due to the situation of the property, the steps and the steep garden, we recommend that the property is not suitable for young children, elderly people or anyone with limited mobility. Halsecombe Cottage kitchen is fitted with electric cooker with hob and washing machine. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a comprehensive range of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. The pantry is just off the hall outside the kitchen and has fridge, freezer, microwave and further storage space. A television, DVD player and DAB radio is provided. The Old School House dates back to 1836 and was used as the Brushford village school until a new schoolroom was built in 1895 then the Old School House became the Headmaster’s home. Adjacent to the property is the village church which dates back to the 13th century. Old School House has been renovated and redecorated to a very high standard, retaining many original features including a small bread oven in the current dining room fireplace. A surprisingly spacious cottage, Old School House has a light and airy feel, and enjoys pretty views to the surrounding countryside. There is an enclosed cottage garden at the front of the cottage with barbecue area containing wooden garden table and chairs. The accommodation comprises sitting room, dining room, kitchen-breakfast room, study, utility boot room, downstairs shower room. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom which has a shower over the bath. The Old School House is well equipped with all new appliances. Stag Cottage is a delightful cottage that was built in the mid 19th century. It is situated on the in the heart of Porlock, surrounded by traditional cottages many of which are thatched. The cottage is full of character and combines a traditional style with modern comforts. A particular feature is the view from the garden across the village, over Porlock Bay and out to sea; watching the sun set over the Bristol Channel from the garden terrace is a delightful way to end the day. The front door opens into the well-proportioned living room, the kitchen has a dining table and leads to a back door and a covered side passage which takes you up into the outside seating areas. There are two bedrooms upstairs - one double and one twin, both affording views across the village. The bathroom is also upstairs, which has a power shower over the bath. Please note that there are several steep steps from the house up to the garden which we recommend are not suitable for young children or anyone with limited mobility. Stag Cottage kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker with hob, dishwasher, fridge with a freezer compartment and a washer/dryer. Owlscombe was built in the 1920s and has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. The accommodation is set out over three levels; the ground floor is comprised of large living room, dining room and conservatory which all enjoy the wonderful views, plus kitchen, large boot room/utility and a downstairs cloakroom. Conifer House is an impressive country residence which forms part of West Porlock House, it was built in 1922 as the main manor house for the Porlock Estate and now is divided into three properties. The house occupies a superb location; quietly nestled at beneath woodlands which lead up to the moor, and enjoying wonderful views over Porlock Bay towards Hurlestone Point. Conifer House will comfortably accommodate 9 guests in five bedrooms on the first and second levels of the house, there are three double bedrooms, one twin and one single. There are two bathrooms and a separate shower room. On the ground floor is an open-plan kitchen and dining room with access to the back garden, there is also a large sitting room to the front of the property and a downstairs cloakroom. A patio area with table and chairs and garden (not enclosed) is situated to the front of the property. This is accessed via stone steps which leading down from the parking area and are for your sole use. There is also an enclosed and private back garden, the gate at the far end of the garden leads to the South West Coastal Path. There is a stream running though the back garden so the ground around it can be quite wet in rainy weather and children must be supervised. The farm is mainly a sheep farm, with several hundred sheep in residence.
