“idyllic location but a few big problems”

Situated directly opposite the beach at Port Quin, this lovely well appointed little cottage boasts a perfect location. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped and the bathroom modern. The two bedrooms are beautiful. However, there are a few problems here, which are not made clear on the information. Wifi is "borrowed" from the flat above, so the signal is not great and the box needs restarting almost every day, which means waiting until the upstairs guests are in and asking if they would be so kind as to restart it. If you are reliant on wifi, and bare in mind there is absolutely no mobile signal here, then this is not for you. There is NO parking. The spaces outside are owned by other people and not allowed to be used by 1A guests. The national trust parking near by is usually full and you can end up with no where to park. If you come back in the dark, there is absolutely no light to see you back from the car park to the house, and you have to walk on the road. Flash light essential. The "garden" is located some 50m away up the road. You have to walk up the road, go through a gate and along a path and then come to a steep slope of land with a washing line and wooden bench and table. Given how steep it is, children could not play here, and I certainly wouldn't drag my washing up the road and have to race up to get it in when it rains. The cottage is somewhat damp. Not suitable for people with a weak chest. The bedding nor the towels were changed during our 2 week stay. The landlady was still hoovering when we arrived and came in half way through, dumped some flowers on the counter but didn't change sheets, towels or take away rubbish. There are limited resources for getting rid of rubbish. The key safe is very difficult to operate. Would I recommend it? Yes, but book with eyes wide open. There are problems.

Owner's reply: Whilst i do accept and act upon constructive criticism the reviewer in this instance has not reported the facts fully. The property is advertised as self-catering, not "serviced", although I do provide linen and towels at no extra charge if required. A washing machine and clothes line are also provided. Further the property is for 4 persons and there were 5 in the Evans' party although booked for 4. The lack of mobile signal, the parking arrangements and times of rubbish collection are advertised. The wi-fi is indeed "shared" with our other property upstairs and during this guest's stay the internet was being upgraded by B.T. causing connection problems. The weather was very wet and with 5 persons obviously a strain on the fabric of the property. True, I was completing the cleaning of the property when the guests arrived, but I pride myself on the level of cleanliness in my properties and I did check up on the guests with fresh flowers mid-way through their stay, but they did not mention anything about clean towels or linen, only parking, but then they did have 2 vehicles.
