Badgers Den is a wonderful retreat. A self contained apartment just 2.5 miles from Fowey, beautifully furnished and set in a peaceful rural location yet only a 10 min walk to the beach, pub and south west coastal path. Well behaved dogs are welcome (max 2) with responsible owners! You have everything you need here for a great stay in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area and the rest of Cornwall.

A comfy king size bed, a well equipped kitchen, lovely ensuite with large shower enclosure and power shower to relax after a long day exploring. There is outside space with BBQ table and chairs and is a great place to catch the evening sun and watch the bats fly around at dusk and listen to the tawny and barn owls if you’re lucky to hear them. In late summer you can pick your own apples from the many trees we have! We are at the end of a farm track surrounded by fields....a lovely peaceful location between Fowey and Par. You can park right outside and a sensor light will come on when it gets dark. There is no street lighting and no light distortion, so on a clear night the sky is lit up with stars! The Wonderful historic port of Fowey is a 2.5 mile drive or 6 mile walk around the coastal path or 3 miles if you take a short cut inland! In Fowey you will find an abundance of boutique shops, cafe's, pubs and restaurants. In the summer months you can take a boat trip from Fowey to Mevagissey or even captain you own boat through the harbour. Polkerris is a short walk around the coastal path, a beautiful small harbour and beach with a pub, restaurant and beach café, the perfect place to watch the sun go down. Staying here you are never very far from anywhere in Cornwall! The Eden Project is 2.5 miles, Charlestown (Poldark filming location) is only 3 miles away, Padstow, Port Isaac (Port Wenn in Doc Martin) are all within a 35 min drive. There is a range of activities nearby, Woody's Bike Park, a downhill mountain bike park (for adrenaline junkies) is 1/4 mile away. Kayaking, sailing, golf courses, spa's are all available nearby. In Par 1/2 mile away you will find a Co op, Spar, Chinese take-away, fish and chip shop, fruit and veg shop, doctors surgery, a couple of miles on is St Austell - a major town in Cornwall where you will find all major supermarkets and shops. There is always something going on in Cornwall, locally we have the Art and Literature festival in May, inspired by Daphne Du Maurier who spent many years living in and around Fowey, June sees the Royal Cornwall show in Wadebridge, August bring the Fowey Royal Regatta - a week long festival of activities and evening music on the quay, November/December brings the Christmas markets in Fowey with festival entertainment, food and drink and an opportunity to pick up local Christmas gifts.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jackie (the owner) a message.

If Jackie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
