“Super house in a spectacular location” Helen House is a spacious and immaculately presented townhouse located high up in Fowey overlooking the river. It is worth staying there for the views alone. The house easily accommodated our party - Lynn, Paul, Rebecca, Steve and Hannah and is well equiped with TVs, DVD players, games consul, Wi-Fi and reading matter - you wouldn't ever get bored there. Fowey itself is a very pretty little place made up of narrow streets (some on the steep side) full of old pubs, eating places and interesting shops. Fowey is perhaps not the cheapest place ever but, equally, not by any means exorbitant. Closeby, you have Polperro, Looe, Mevagissey, St Austell, Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Overall, this is a fabulous part of England yet, somehow, you don't feel like you are in England. Go there!
“Cornwall's little gem!” We loved this beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings, with lovely views. It was centrally situated for lots of the main attractions in Cornwall. We were given a wonderful warm and friendly welcome on arrival, and lots of information prior to our visit regarding the cottage itself, the location, and finding the cottage, which wasn't a problem. There were lots of added little touches which made the visit very special. After busy, enjoyable days out around Cornwall, it was a pleasure to come back to the luxurious charm and peace of this cottage.
“Cottage and surroundings beautiful would highly recommend” I would highly recommend staying at Old House the cottage was decorated to a high standard, when booking I thought the website was too good to be true but upon arrival I was not disappointed with the Cottage or the surroundings. Trevor and Suzanne made us very welcome and Suzanne also even took the time to take one of the younger members of our party to make an Easter Tree.
If you like walking take a cab or drive to Menabilly Barton Farm and do the walk into Fowey along the cliffs or to Polkerris. At Polkerris would recommend eating at Sams or The Rashleigh Inn. We also took a trip by train from Par to St Ives (only £9.60 return takes just over an hour) the trains takes you along the coast views are amazing.
“A luxury home away from home” My family and I stayed at the Old Watermill for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything one can possibly need to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From the time of booking to the end of our stay, the owners Bill and Carole provided excellent communication and hospitality. The house manager, Caroline, does an excellent job in keeping the mill spotlessly clean and in tip top condition. We fell in love with the charming and picturesque town of Fowey, which is home to a variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops whilst retaining that traditional Cornish village feel. The location was ideal for the many day trips we undertook to explore Cornwall. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Old Watermill and would not hesitate to return.
“A wonderful house in a great location.” This is our second trip to Lantic which is beautifully furnished with everything that you could possibly need for a great holiday. Our young children felt at home straight away. Fowey is an idyllic destination and Lantic is in a great position for walking into town or to the beach at Readymoney. Lantic has views to die for and we will be returning again!!
