The upper deck apartment at the Square Rig offers comfortable accommodation on a self catering basis with magnificent river views and has the added benefit of sole use of the on-site parking space (the parking space will only accommodate a standard size vehicle - for additional parking there is a car park approx. 5/10 minutes level walk away, for which a weekly ticket can be obtained). It is advisable to reverse your vehicle into the parking space. The apartment is situated very close (within walking distance) to the centre of Fowey town giving easy access to the shops, pubs, restaurants and quay. From the road, the front door opens into a hallway and up a flight of stairs to the apartment entrance (if you have difficulty generally in climbing stairs, please be aware that you will need to climb these stairs every time you enter/leave the upper deck). An internal hall leads to the open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The fitted kitchen is well equipped. The dining area has a dining table and seating for 6 people.The lounge area is comfortably furnished with two large sofas and TV. There are fabulous river views from the sitting room and the patio doors lead out on to the balcony affording even better views of the estuary. Garden furniture is provided. The hall leads to the first two bedrooms.Bedroom 1 has full size bunk beds and bedroom 2 has double/twin beds (can be made up as a double OR 2 twin beds). A flight of stairs lead up to the third bedroom and the bathroom. Bedroom 3 has a double bed with en-suite WC and washbasin. Bed linen, towels, electricity, wi-fi and heating are included. There is a separate laundry room downstairs plus a games room (unfortunately at the present time, the games room has been closed). There is a boat house at the rear which includes 4 kayaks and a dinghy which can be used when available (on a daily first come first served basis - no pre-booking system is in place), when tides are appropriate and entirely at guests own risk. Access to the water can be gained at the rear of the property (please be aware that barriers are put in place on the slipway after Autumn half term and removed before Easter, therefore, the kayaks/dinghy will not be in use during this period). No pets are allowed. Non-smoking house.

Arrival/departure times have been altered - arrival from 5pm, departure by 9am. There are 4 apartments at the Square Rig and other guests may be staying at the same time and using the communal facilities (currently closed including kayaks). It is advisable to book restaurants prior to arriving to avoid disappointment. The Hall Walk is a popular walk in Cornwall - 4 miles (6.5km). It is a circular walk with 2 ferry crossings which can be started from either Fowey, Bodinnick or Polruan.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Chris (the owner) a message.

If Chris (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
