“Brilliant Family Holiday” We have a brilliant summer holiday. The cottage was in a fantastic location, short walk to the beach, lovely views over the harbour and short stroll to shops, cafes and pubs. “Wow, excellent lodge” This lodge is really home from home, excellent location very private and 1st class thorougout very well equipped, 2 fishing pegs, Hot tub went down a treat, went as a family of 6 adults 1 small child, plenty of room, Ray always on hand if you needed anything but this place is 1st class he wasn't needed, we already booked for next year as none of us wanted to leave .

“A great place to stay!” We only stayed one night, as we popped over to the island, but we had a lovely time. The accommodation was perfect - well situated, warm and comfortable. The beds were particularly good and we were made to feel very much at home. The house is very well equipped and was extremely clean. We'll certainly be back, but this time, for longer!

“Location, location, location” Nice house in picturesque village - we had a good few days and as it was the beginning of the Easter break we were able to enjoy it quietly - would imagine it is different at peak times. You park at the top of the village and wander down to the house although you can drive down to unload etc. Cod & Lobster pub highly recommended- gluten free possible too! House simple but clean and good layout. Make sure to visit Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Saltburn, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby.

“Lovely lodge and location for a break away” A group of four of us stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. The lodge is located right next to one of the smaller lakes and has its own fishing stand. We made friends with lots of ducks! Great view ouf of the patio doors. We found the lodge very comfortable with tasteful decor, nice furniture and fittings and smart, clean bathrooms. The hot tub was great, especially on the clearer nights looking up to the stars. The owners were helpful and I'd definitely stay at Avocet Lodge again. We didn't want to leave!
