“Met all our needs comfortably.” The treat of fresh bread, cake, eggs and meats was unexpected and so with the food we brought, we had much more food than we could manage. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was very well equipped and the owners were friendly and gracious. The surrounds provided a nice area for walking and exercising the dogs. It is a bit remote: be prepared for a long stretch of ungroomed road on the way in.

“Great Getaway!” We visited The Acorns in June 2012. Weather wasn't great, but the same couldn't be said for the accommodation and the Hosts.When we arrived we automatically felt relaxed and started to unwind. We all loved the peace and Quite here that is normally afforded by being stuck in the middle of nowhere. This couldn't be further from the truth here. There where so many visitor attractions in the local vicinity, plenty of lovely walks right on your doorstep( the landscape here is beautiful). A lovely local pub that provided great food at reasonable prices( but it's advisable to pre book) within a 5 mins walk. The property itself is very spacious with all facilities provided, everything you need is there.The house had such a cosy feel, it felt like home from home. Great for kids, no need to fill the car up with loads of toys as a small amount are provided, and plenty of outside space for them to run around in. The hosts were brilliant, our daughter loved playing with their son and chasing the chickens, you always knew they were around if you needed them, yet they also allowed us the privacy we wanted to really enjoy the holiday. The Hot Tub was an added bonus. We all really loved this holiday and hope to return again soon.

“Wonderful retreat!!!” I cannot fault Coombe Farm. It was my 30th and a large group of us, and Angela and Tim couldnt have been more accomodating, they were totally relaxed and we forgot they were on site! the house is beautiful, we all felt as though it was 'ours' for thr weekend and didnt want to leave! it was very well equipped for parties, cooking and everything, and the dressing up box made for some amusing photos!! it snowed heavily in the few days before so we were worried we might not make it but Angela took all the stress out of it. we had an amazing few days and would love to come back!!!

“Great weekend in the country” A few friends and I stayed for a long weekend at Northend Farmhouse to celebrate an upcoming wedding and was very impressed. The location was great - quite a private location, but several pubs a walk away and also walking distance to the beach. Plenty of space in the house to relax - two large living rooms (including a mini snooker table) and kitchen / dining room. We were able to have a barbecue outside one afternoon and a roast dinner in the AGA the next day. Very impressed with the beer from the micro-brewery too. Would definitely be happy to stay again in the future.

“Peaceful & Convenient” We were in the Valley Apartment - comfortable with lovely views and ideal for a week's stay in order to catch up with nearby family. Being close to Rutland Water was another advantage as was the choice of many good pubs in the attractive surrounding villages.

“Gorgeous house, beautiful location, perfect for large groups” A group of 17 of us rented this property for a hen weekend. The house was perfect for the group with plenty of space for us all to eat and relax together but also lots of places to hide away for those wanting an early night! The upstairs living space is huge and ideal for gathering big groups together. Having 5 bathrooms was also a huge bonus with a group of 17 girls! The house is beautifully decorated and feels very homely with lovely views across the countryside. I would definitely recommend bringing a car although the owner gave us a list of local taxi companies who all knew the property which allowed us to go out on the Saturday night to Stamford for dinner and drinks. The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming and never failed to answer my lists of questions quickly! Thank you so much Katie for making my best friend's hen weekend so special.
