“Location, location, location!” The cottage is beautiful! Arrived to a very clean, well equipped cottage. Excellent first impression! The arrival instructions were also excellent, and we had no problem finding the cottage, parking in the ample driveway and letting ourselves in. Location is by far the biggest asset: Storrs Hall hotel is across the road, Bowness and Windermere are a 5-10min drive, there are lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby (Wild Boar Inn, Brown Horse both a 10min drive at the most), Kendal (and all your big supermarkets) are 30min drive, Keswick is a scenic drive up the lakeside (roughly an hour depending on traffic. We also ventured to the Lake District Wildlife Park (really good for the money - got to handle some animals, free parking, small cafe), Ambleside for some lovely lunches and for Hayes Garden Centre (Fairy and Dragon Experience £10 for children, £2 for adults, but brilliant value for money and really well done... Magical experience for a three year old), and of course a boat trip round Windemere, miniature locomotive and The Beatrix Potter Experience were also a must. Some of our party also spent an evening in one of the spa hotels in Bowness - lovely for a special meal/celebration, and again, a handy 5-10min drive. The cottage itself had a lovely big garden - we were lucky with the weather - equipped with BBQ, bike storage, washing line, patio furniture and plenty of grassy areas and parking for three cars. Indoors, should the weather be less kind, there was a DVD player, DVDs, books, board games, free view TV. The Internet connection was ok - we had expected into be worse - and the phone signal was fine for everyone (apart from my Giff Gaff phone... Although I could get a signal at the windows at the front of the house and in the back garden). There was plenty of space in the house for a family to spread themselves out: conservatory, big kitchen, dining area, living area. And ample space should everyone want to sit together too! We didn't want for anything. The kitchen was well equipped, the basics were there already, such as toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, etc. The bedrooms had plenty of storage and the beds were very comfortable. “Excellent in every way !” A friendly welcome, beautiful accommodation, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Welcome grocery pack greatly appreciated including freshly baked cake. Lovely walks on the doorstep. Local pub serving delicious food Very relaxing .Can’t think of anything to make it any better.

“Pollywiggle Cottage” we were very pleased with the cottage, it had all the amenities, it was just the right distance from the beach and was ingot walking distance to the pubs. we were well impressed with the large dog cage that was there as it was helpful when we sight seeing and the sea life centre. the only downer on the place was the brown settee we both felt that it was to low and a struggle to get up from. But everything was great

“Great” Gilli so thoughtful, great little chalet, with everything you could possibly need on holiday, tea,coffee milk and sugar were there waiting when we arrived, iron, ironing board, games, books and dvds all there if needed.Will definitely book through gilli again if I want to stay in the area. “Ideal base” We used this house in a nicely laid out, quiet residential area as a base for visiting relatives staying on Brownsea Island. Poole itself is easily accessible on foot.

“Perfectly located, considerately equipped.” We have stayed in Sidmouth before but further out and with disturbing traffic (yes, even quaint, sleepy Sidmouth has traffic). Red Rose Cottage on the other hand is very quiet and yet just behind the High Street - a stone throw from the local baker, Sadly, the weather was not brilliant but we walked the town, the Esplanade and The Byes (we had come by train, with the No 9 Bus from Honiton). We are grateful for the Welcome Pack, Information Booklet and the considerate way the house had been equipped. Thank you. (Beware the step outside the bathroom!)

“Our stay at Seamoor House” Excellent house for a large family reunion. Every bedroom en-suite, good facilities, 3 rooms and large kitchen downstairs (plus children’s playhouse in garden) made sure everyone had space to enjoy themselves. Great location, minutes from the beach, also a short drive to the moors for amazing walks.

“Durham House” Group of 6 adults and 6 older teenagers stayed in Durham House over the Easter weekend. Couldn't fault it, we had a fantastic time. There was ample space for everyone and the property was very clean. Six large, nicely decorated spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space and TVs in each. Ensuites and bathroom modern and clean. Fully equipped kitchen with more than enough cupboard space, crockery and utensils for a large group. The 2 dishwashers came in very handy! Dining room was big and the table was huge so we could all eat together. The living room was very comfy and spacious and we liked that the bifold doors opened up to the garden area where we could sit outside. Games room was a definite hit with the kids and it was great that we had our own private car park. The bar area was great we had lots of fun in there. The owner Neil was really nice and friendly, he made sure everything was ok for us in the house, and recommended things to do in the area. He even gave us some discount vouchers for Beamish Museum! The location was excellent only 30 mins to Durham and the village itself was very pretty and had all the local shops you needed. I would definitely recommend this property and stay here again.
