“Ideal house for a gathering your friends and family” 6 adults, 6 children and a dog fitted comfortably - with room to spare - to spend New Year together. We recieved a friendly welcome from George and a lovely Christmassy hamper - thank you. Christmas decs and fairy lights gave the Arc a homely feel. The weather was crazy! Waterproofs and wellies. Heavy rain with strong winds meant we spent less time outside, but we made good use of the pool table, TVs, games, DVDs and WiFi. George came back to help with WiFi promptly, despite a long journey. The main kitchen had everything we needed. We didn’t really use the smaller kichens on the upper levels - although the fridge on the middle level was perfectly positioned and sized for beer. There were plenty of heaters and bathrooms. Thanks for making our stay so easy.

“Great holiday” We just come back from our holiday in Camber Sands and we love it. We had all the facilities, games for kids, caravan was very close to the sea. Many thanks to the owner Tracey, she was answering to all our questions. We definitely we will go again .

“Just perfect. When can we come back?” We had a wonderful half term stay at Rye Bay Beach House. Superb location, (easy drive from London), perfectly equipped and furnished, very comfortable beds! Great showers, easy car parking, great restaurants and beautiful walks into medieval gem, Rye. The house is just steps from the beautiful Cambersands; the kids had a ball; when they weren't swimming, flying kites or jumping around in the dunes, they entertained themselves in the perfectly kitted out games room situated on the ground floor of the house. Wonderful to end the days with a glass of wine or two on the balcony in the evening sun! Nice touch with a little hamper of local products to welcome you on arrival. Rebecca and Kuros have given a great deal of thought to their lovely house. Thankyou; we will definitely book with you again.

“Wonderfully relaxing, definitely recommend” We loved our stay at Beach Retreat, thank you Ian and Nicola. The cottage is perfect for a family of 4 (and a dog!) for a week. It is clean and in very good condition, located in the lovely Whitesands development of Camber, and fitted with everything we needed. The beach really is only a 10-minute walk away, so we could easily pop back and forth during the day. The beach itself is beautiful, with soft sand, rolling dunes and shallow waves for the kids and dog to play in. The lovely town of Rye is a 15-minute drive away and definitely worth a visit on the windy or overcast days, not ideal for the beach. We happily recommend Beach Retreat and hope to return one day for another visit.

The wide variety of shops, charming English style pubs, and quaint cobblestone streets provide a lovely backdrop for the town of Rye. Explore the ruins of Camber Castle, shop at the trendy boutiques along Main Road, or head to the docks for a beautiful sunset.
While you're in Rye, be sure to also save time for some of these must-see attractions and activities:
- Romney Marshes: These wetlands cover over 100 square miles and even have their own breed of sheep that thrive in the conditions of the marshlands.
- Saxon Shore Way: This long distance footpath takes you past several of the main attractions in town.
- Martello Towers: Built as part of England's coastal defence in the 1800s, several of the forts that stand 40 feet high still remain fully intact and have been preserved as historic monuments.
- Go Kitesurfing: Head to Rye Harbor or Camber Sands during the summer months to try your hand at this unique sport where you're drawn across the water on a small board that's powered by a kite.
- Rye Country Market: Head to this local market where you can buy locally made crafts, plants and fresh farm produce.
The East Sussex area of the United Kingdom has several events and festivals throughout the year, and many of them are within a short drive of your future getaway home. Watch the exhibitions, talks and plays all celebrating the life of Thomas Paine during the Revolution and Reason Festival in July, enjoy the classical music and literature of the Rye Festival in September, or head to nearby Eastbourne for the two week celebration of art and culture in March known as the Eastbourne Festival.
A holiday rental is the preferred option for those staying in Rye. Choose a charming apartment just steps from the beach and several of the best restaurants in town, or book a cosy cabin nestled in the English countryside.
There's plenty to do in Rye and East Sussex, but the area is also near some of the other popular English cities and counties. If you have some extra time to explore, the rolling green countryside of Sussex and the world-renowned city of London can all be reached within an hour by car.
