“Nice cottage but parking in garden not easy”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2018

Booked this cottage as it looked quaint & had a parking facility in the front garden. However it should be mentioned that the road accessing this cottage is very narrow & always has traffic parked so access in and out was very difficult always having to find the owners of vehicles & having to ask them to move to allow us in and out. On one occasion, not being able to get access to the garden, we had to park on the harbour & when we got up the following morning, there was someone else`s car parked in the garden! This turned out to be someone from the cottage opposite, I later discovered, who obviously didn`t like me placing a polite note on the windscreen asking them not to park in the space that we had paid for. We then got a complaint back (passed on by another neighbour) that the outside lamp on the cottage, had kept the gentleman opposite awake all night. It was turned on so that we could see our way in, after an evening out & was turned OFF at 11pm. Suggest that maybe a coach lamp should be removed if you are not allowed to use it. Although the cottage was acceptable, it was not the most relaxing holiday due to the location.- & its problems.

Owner's reply: I am so sorry you found it difficult to access the cottage, unfortunately it is a narrow lane and surprisingly people do leave their cars in it but always understand that they have to move them when required. I apologise for the neighbour who parked in the cottage frontage, we do try to co-operate with our neighbours to use the space only when guests are not staying in the cottage. The light outside is for guest's convenience and I am surprised it caused a problem to our neighbour opposite because of the distance but we will put a lower voltage bulb in this.I sincerely regret that your holiday was not very relaxing due to your difficulties with our neighbour and I hope it has not put you off Mousehole which is such a magical place.

“Excellent Cottage”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2013

This is a lovely, small cottage in the heart of the village, which catered for your every need. The cottage is full of character and the owner provided a personal touch on arrival, which didn't go unnoticed. The road leading up to the cottage is small but there is parking in front of the cottage if you are driving. There is also a regular bus service so we found that we didn't need to use the car once we got there. The cottage neighbours and everyone in the village are extremely friendly and pleasant. We had a great holiday and would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a real cosy and traditional cottage to relax in. We would also like to add that the owner of the cottage was excellent when booking the cottage, she provided additional information and was always quick to respond to any queries, during and after the booking. Great village, great cottage....would recommend!
