“Lovely coastal cottage”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2016

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the lovely Cardy Cottage. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. With the beach only metres away from the cottage, there are lovely views across the Firth of Forth from the bedrooms. An excellent place to chill out, read your book and hear the sound the sea!

“Just Fabulous”

What a great wee cottage. Having had many holidays all over Scotland I can honestly say this is the best we have stayed in. From the welcome gifts right through to the most amazing comfortable bed. Equipped to a very high standard and who wouldn't like having an open fire burning on a cold winter night. All in all highly recommended. As for the location, it's great too. Plenty on the doorstep and more if willing to make a short car journey. St Andrews and tentsmuir forest being our favourite. Short walk to the railway inn from the cottage welcomed after many long winter walks.

“Little gem of a cottage!”

Cardy cottage is in an excellent location, beach is at the end of the road. It has all the amenities needed for a comfortable break and the owners are very easy to deal with. They left welcome gifts-wine,cake,homemade jam, milk etc which was a very thoughtful touch. We stayed with our dog who really enjoyed his stay!

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind review we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

“Cardy Cottage ticks all the boxes.”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2015

We have just returned from our forth visit to Cardy Cottage and every day offered something new. Location is so important and the last week has seen us in the forest of Tentsmuir, the Fife Coastal Path, the woods surrounding Falkland, St Andrews and Edinburgh. As well as the car we have used local buses and trains which are all easily accessed from Lower Largo. The village itself has the essentials, two pubs, both dog friendly and one that does food, plus a small general store. These are all within a 5-10 min walk from the cottage and the early morning walk along the beach to get the fresh rolls is just lovely (tide permitting!) The cottage itself is warm, comfortable and well equipped. We thought initially that a courtyard instead of a garden might be an issue but as the beach is so close it hasn't been a problem. Things we like best about the cottage are a really comfortable bed, decent fridge/freezer, well equipped utility for walking gear and best of all relaxing in front of the coal fire with a glass of wine in the evening. The owners Simon and Becca are most welcoming and couldn't be more helpful.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind comments, we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Simon and Becca
