The historic fishing village of Crail lies in the East Neuk of Fife. We have plenty of holiday rentals in Crail to choose from, so you’re sure to find the right accommodation to suit your tastes and budget.
With its winding cobbled streets, pretty harbour full of fishing boats and cottages dotted all around, it's easy to see why Crail attracts visitors throughout the year. Just a 90-minute drive from Edinburgh, the village lies on the Fife Coastal Route and is home to a wealth of attractions. You're just a stone's throw from world-class golfing at St Andrews and there are a range of coastal walking trails to explore.
What to do
Crail Pottery is the perfect place to stop off for handcrafted souvenirs on a stroll around the village, whilst Crail Museum and Heritage Centre gives a fascinating insight into the area’s history. Scotland’s Secret Bunker is nearby too, and well worth exploring.

First Class -we'll be back
David and Marysia have created the most welcoming holiday home. Communication was first class and nothing seemed too much trouble. As for the house -We felt relaxed right away. The great welcome basket with luxury goodies and the fab living room with large windows letting lots of light flood in-superb. All the kitchen essentials were there, tin foil, kitchen roll, toilet paper and lovely Arran aromatic toiletries in the bathrooms.Beds were so comfy and I have rarely slept so well. As for that fabulous bathroom- loved it,best shower ever and the bath, as others have said pure indulgence!
All the amenities such as local shops, butcher, baker coffee shops all a short stroll away.
We packed a lot in our week,a trip to St Andrews is a must, Kingsbarn beach, Loch Leven, Falkland Palace, the strangely named Pillars of Hercules,Pitenweem worth a visit for the chocolate shop. The best bit was just being in Crail in such a lovely house.
Thanks for sharing and like everyone else, we too will be booking a trip back as soon as we can- see you soon! …
Excellent cottage in a stunning village
Really lovely cottage in the centre of crail, which itself is a stunning village. Had a really good long weekend with the best weather! The complimentary treats were a really nice touch. Will definitely be planning another visit! …
Home from Home
Seagulls Rest is in a great location, only a couple of minutes walk away from all the shops in the village. Inside, the apartment is furnished to a very high standard and has every conceivable item you might need during your stay. It is certainly one of the best stocked rentals I have stayed in and I've stayed in a lot over the years. When we arrived there was milk in the fridge, a pack of chocolate biscuits and all the tea, coffee and sugar you could possibly use. Because of the décor and all the extras it felt as if we were staying at a friend's house rather than a rental. Will return the next time we go to Crail. …
People and pet friendly
On the main road and opposite the road to Crail's picturesque harbour. A very comfortable and well equipped flat. Friendly neighbours and within easy reach of all local facilities. Owner very helpful .Would like to return and have already recommended it to friends. The owner has prepared an excellent book of information about the flat and the areas around. …
Perfect East Neuk Short Stay
Just back from an enjoyable 4 night stay here. The house is spacious and very well positioned to fully enjoy this historic seaside village, central yet quiet. The very large comfortable living room instantly felt like home, and each day started with a short stroll to the bakers, Barnett’s, to purchase artisan bread. The chilli loaf is amazing! Was very pleased to find an excellent whole food shop, Smoke Fired, very close. Also, a visit to the exceptionally well organised museum is a must, packed with absorbing stories and information - could spend most of a wet day there. Don’t miss the fossil trees and centipede trails near the harbour beach, quite mind blowing.
We were lucky enough to see a pod of 6 or so dolphins very close up on our trip to the Isle of May from Anstruther, as well as the expected many many puffins!
Finished with a shopping trip to the extensive pottery, and a quick dip from the sun trap harbour beach. Perfection!
Crail is a beautiful place, with atmospheric Fife Coastal Path walks both ways, and this house lets you make the most of it and come home with everything to hand. …
The Coach House Crail
Just returned from a 4 night stay with our two grandsons.
Firstly, Maureen (the owner) was a joy to deal with from our booking through to our return home. We were taken aback with the generous welcome pack she left for us, all of which was very quickly consumed.
We've stayed in a number of different places over the years and loving to cook whilst on holiday, I have to say this was the best fitted out kitchens I've encountered. Everything I needed was available, not only in the kitchen but elsewhere throughout the house (torches, tissues, binoculars, etc), very thoughtful touches.
All the rooms were spacious and the large lounge was nice and bright.
Conveniently situated for a stroll through the woods, park, beach, putting green or town and very quiet.
Local bus service seemed very reliable and well used by locals and tourists alike. …
Lily's Cottage- quaint retreat in a beautiful coastal village
Really Lovely Holiday Cottage in Crail
Lily's Cottage was ideally situated for us, as we were participating in the annual festival held in Crail. The cottage is also in an ideal position to go to the beach at Roome Bay, and also for anyone wanting to do the coastal walk.
The cottage itself retains a lot of character, but also has a fantastic extension, which serves as a lovely summer room looking out to the garden. …
Coastal Haven - Stunning Holiday Home in Crail
Fabulous Holiday Home 5*
Our third visit to Coastal Haven and it was just as lovely as our first stay in 2016. The house is fabulous, Jane & Alan keep it in pristine condition throughout with great attention to detail and the newly landscaped garden is gorgeous (although we had some rainy days so couldn't make full use of it!).
Fantastic welcome basket which even includes treats for the our little dog - Champers says Thank You!!.
Thanks again Alan & Jane for another wonderful stay & see you in 2019 xx …
Sea Neuk Crail a delightful cosy holiday retreat
We found Sea Neuk in Crail to be a delightful cosy holiday home overlooking the sea, directly above the harbour and in an ideal position to explore the surrounding country, play golf or just relax.
The property would suit families and friends of all ages, is newly decorated and well equipped throughout. The sun lounge opens onto a small patio/garden. In summer this would be ideal for a barbeque or just to sit and enjoy the view.
Sea Neuk is a great little find for a holiday break throughout the year and we certainly plan to return again soon. …
No. 16 Westgate South, Crail, St. Andrews
A great wee cottage literally a stone's throw from the harbour
A really homely cottage with two bedrooms (one double, one 2 bunk bed). Lovely little terrace to rear can be a real sun trap when weather plays nicely. Easy to park on street (no restrictions) directly outside the cottage. Crail never gets too busy. At top if a flight if steps down to harbour. Owners clearly out a lot if care and thought into this property. Nothing hasn't been thought of. Highly recommend both Crail and no 16 Westgate. …
Crail Harbour View -- Crail Fife Scotland
Very nice apartment in Crail.
The owners did all they could to ensure a nice stay.
We would certainly recommend it to anyone.
The only issue is eating out; driving to St Andrews is the best option, if you want a good restaurant. …

"Home from Home" - stylish house, near St Andrews. Free Bicycles Included!!!
A very warm and friendly house.
This house is on the edge of Crail. It is a perfect distance to have your daily constitutional with a walk each evening to the Golf Hotel for a drink and a chat with some of the locals. The house is spotless and well equipped. Beds are comfy and the whole house was warm for a November stay. The bathroom was brand new. If I could change anything it would be to have a walk-in shower rather than a climb over the bath. However, that is just my preference and it will certainly not prevent me from returning. In fact, I wish I could go and live there. Crail and the surrounding area is delightful. Mrs Weir, the owner, was most helpful and supplied us with everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. …
