Description

Novus Harbour View has stunning views over Largo pier to a beautiful sandy beach and beyond to the Bass Rock, a volcanic plug rising from the sea off North Berwick. It lies 12 miles from St Andrews, the home of golf, with several local golf courses within minutes of the house. Also nearby are the picturesque fishing villages of the East Neuk, though with the ancient village of Lower Largo on the doorstep, the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk on whose adventures "Robinson Crusoe" was based, you may find no reason to travel far at all. Simply step through the conservatory onto the patio and relax while enjoying the stunning views across the Firth of Forth.

The house has recently been redecorated and renovated with the addition of a new conservatory, a luxury bathroom with shower and a new ensuite shower-room.

Parking: There is ample off-road parking for up to 4 cars.

Garden: There is a terraced garden with a large patio and small lawn.

The Scotland region

Lower Largo

The Crusoe Hotel and the Railway Tavern are only minutes away through the garden gate and there is a Spar shop between the two. A 10 minute walk away is Lundin Links where you will find Janes for delicious coffee, cake and gifts. Leven is a 10 minute drive away with a Sainsbury, Lidl and other shops.Fresh fish can be purchased locally throughout the year (Live lobster / crab can also be purchased at reasonable rates at most times. Please enquire.) Popular local activities include fishing and sailing in Lower Largo. A modern indoor swimming facility complete with a wave pool and slides is located nearby in Leven town centre along the esplanade.
Windsurfing, paddle boats, and sailing are available during the summer months in Elie, 4 miles.
There is a well-appointed RSPB nature centre overlooking Loch Leven at Vane Farm. The centre has an observation room, a nature trail, and a hide by the shore overlooking a bird-watching “scrape” (a shallow pool).
Thousands of pink-footed geese arrive here in autumn. Large numbers breeding or over-wintering duck, geese, and whooper swans are on the loch, while the surrounding wet fields have breeding snipe, redshank, and lapwing.
Dundee and Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, are easily reached being around 40 minutes distant by car.

“Fantastic find.”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2016

Fantastic home from home. Super warm welcome on arrival and a lovely welcome food basket. Everyone had a great time and were really happy with the house, we were age ranged from 11-68. Ticked all the boxes, plenty space for us all. Loved the kitchen. Bedrooms were great, plenty storage space and super views. Well worth a stay.

All way from booking to leaving this property we were all 100% satisfied. The house was very comfortable and appointed. One of our party is a wheelchair user and even they agreed it was a comfortable stay away from home....beds super comfy! I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
