Description

Morwenna Surf Chalet is a stylish, dog friendly holiday home situated overlooking magnificent St. Ives Bay in West Cornwall. The chalet is only a few hundred metres from a 3 mile long, wide sandy beach with rolling surf.

Set in the undulating sand dunes of Riviere Towans and fully refurbished for 2013, the chalet is designed to be a home from home providing a relaxing setting to unwind or to enjoy the natural environment that provides surfing, cycling, walking & bird/wildlife watching amongst others.

New in 2014, we have a large glass and Stainless Steel balcony accessed via sliding patio doors directly from the lounge, with views across St.Ives bay.

From 2017 Riviere Towans has upgraded WIFI across the whole site which is FREE for all guests to connect to and use (fair use policy and streaming

restrictions apply).

Morwenna has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 in comfort (2 rooms with double beds and 1 with two full sized single beds), a modern bathroom with large walk in electric shower and heated tiled floor, modern fitted kitchen with ceramic electric hob and integrated oven, dishwasher and new appliances. One of the double bedrooms has space for a compact travel cot (not supplied)

There is also a large room underneath the chalet to store surf boards, wet suits, bicycles and pushchairs. This has two adult bicycles and helmets for guest use.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THE MAIN SUMMER PERIOD (JUNE, JULY, AUGUST & SEPTEMBER), THE MINIMUM BOOKING IS FOR 7 DAYS. ALL BOOKINGS MUST START AND END ON A SATURDAY.

Morwenna is bookable by the week throughout the season from April until the end of October, plus the Christmas and New Year holidays. Saturday is the changeover date for weekly bookings. Outside of these dates shorter breaks may be possible by arrangement, but must still start or end on a Saturday, due to cleaning/housekeeping teams.

The price quoted is for the whole chalet regardless of the number of people staying (maximum 6). Electricity and bed linen is included in the rental cost with beds made up for your arrival. Dogs welcome, with lots of dog friendly beaches close by. Max 2 dogs. To cover extra cleaning we charge £25 for 1 dog and £35 for 2 . SurfChaletHolidays com

Getting around

There is a bus service with the nearest stop 200m from the chalet. The mainline train station is around a 1.5km walk via the North Quay or 3km via the main road. The train takes you to Penzanze and London. There are a couple of local taxi companies as well. Ample parking for several cars is provided at Morwenna

Interaction with guest

Unfortunately we don't currently live close to Morwenna. However, we pride ourselves on being available over the phone or email to answer any questions. Our housekeepers live in Hayle, and are available in case of emergency, plus the staff in the Management Office, onsite, are available during normal office hours to answer any questions you might have.

“Wonderful holiday”

We spent a great week here, chalet has everything you could want very comfortable and spacious. Weather was not our friend but we went out everyday. The location is beautiful, site very friendly and the shop has what you have run out of. Chalet had a great store room and a beautiful balcony. Lovely holiday had by all.

Had a lovely week at morwena surf chalet, the property was beautiully decorated and clean with all you need for a family holiday and more. The site is clean and well maintained the views are breath taking , miles of sandy beaches are great for kids of all ages and i especally like the fact that when the tide went out it left big pools of water on the beach ideal for small children to play in . Resturants/pubs are in walking distance. if the weathers not beach weather theres lots to do in the local area for all ages. Great holiday will definately rebook again.

We had a 3 night stay in beautiful sunny cornwall in July. 2 adults and 13 year daughter and 11 year old son. The property has obviously been very recently refurbished, with all new appliances and decoration. The beds were very comfortable (i think new mattresses & bedding) and location was very peaceful, although not as isolated as we originally thought. In the storage area there were 2 bikes which we used to explore the complex, as well as some beach chairs, beach tennis gear etc which were available for guests use. The beach was an easy 5 min walk, and when the tide was out a massive play area of beach appeared. Overall 2 slight negatives: it would have been nice to had a private outside area for meals (you can sit outside, but not secluded). Also the living area ideally could have done with some more opening windows to provide a cooling breeze. Overall the accomadation was excellent and good value. The owner was easily contactable and very helpful. (Dont worry about the coin operated electricity-just 5 pound coins used in our 3 night, 4 day stay.)

We are planning on installing french doors and a balcony leading off of the lounge which will give a more private outdoor dining area but ran out of time to install them for the summer. These will hopefully be added over the winter, ready for next year. Thanks again
