Description

The Barton Annexe ,in East Lydford near Somerton ,Glastonbury and Street and close to Castle Cary and Shepton Mallet is a single storey self-catering property with own access and entrance. Situated in a quiet village location, minutes from the A303 and A37. It is an ideal holiday base from which to tour this lovely part of England. Easy driving distance from many places to visit including Glastonbury, Street (Clark's Village), Wells, Taunton, Bristol, Bath, Castle Cary, Longleat, Yeovilton and both coastlines are about an hour's drive away. Ideally situated for access to the Bath & West Showground which hosts many events throughout the year.There are several National Trust properties nearby including Montacute, Lytes Carey and Stourhead and close to the Somerset Levels with famous RSPB reserves and Willow Centre, and Mendip Hills and much more! The Annexe has central heating, an equipped kitchen with a two ring electric hob, fridge and microwave. There is a walk-in shower, hand basin and separate WC. The main living area has a dining table with seating for 4, colour TV/DVD, 2 easy chairs and settee. The curtained off bedroom area beyond has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and twin beds which can be locked together to make a king size double bed. The property sleeps 2 people comfortably.Outside there is ample off road parking for cars and secure bike storage. Adjacent to the Annexe there is outside seat with table and chairs for guests' use.The large grassed area at the top of the yard is shared(at own risk) with our other property and occasional visiting grandchildren !! Facilities for washing and drying clothes are available.Prices for two persons, self catering, includes linen, towels and heating. Complimentary tea, coffee and milk on arrival.

“Perfect location for exploring Somerset and Dorset”

Really delightful cottage for 2 people in an extremely quiet location. Hosts were there to greet us (with Bob - their little terrier!) and could not have been more welcoming. Flowers and fruit basket, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits also awaited us and were much appreciated. Kitchen was fully equipped. Large shower - powerful and with plenty of hot water. Large fluffy towels. Powerful hairdryer, iron and ironing board; washing machine and dryer available in adjoining barn and plenty of hanging space. Washing soap kindly provided by owners. Beds were very comfortable with nice sheets and duvets. Extra blankets were available. Wifi is available and TV with wide range of channels. Plenty of parking. Walking distance to local pub which served excellent meals in the evening (take a torch if you walk as the last part of the return journey is quite dark but there is pavement all the way). Altogether a very pleasant week and perfect position for exploring Bath, Wells, Glastonbury and the surrounding area. Helpful suggestions for sightseeing were offerred by Jan and there is a large map of the area hanging on the wall which was very helpful in planning our daily trips. A big thank you to Jan and Paul for being such lovely hosts. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.
