Alice's Cottage provides peace and tranquility, a perfect holiday retreat at any time of the year. Just a few steps from the West Looe River with an abundance of wildlife life. There is a pretty 45 minute walk through Kilminorth Woods beside the estuary to the lively town of Looe.

The cottage is beautifully equipped to a high standard, kitchen and bathroom refurbished 2018. The cottage offers accommodation over two floors and has a mixture of carpeting, slate, tile floors and rugs throughout.

The oak beamed lounge has an ancient fireplace with wood burning stove providing cosines on a winter's break. Leather sofa and chair provides seating for 4 people. 42" interative TV, Freeview, Blue ray DVD player, Radio/CD/iPod docking station and superfast broadband.

The modern tiled bathroom with electric power shower over bath and has a heated towel rail.

The large airy kitchen/dinner has a range of wall and base units, electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, washer/dryer and seating for four.

Bedroom 1: Double bed, built in wardrobes, bedside cabinets and lamps.

Bedroom 2: Double bed, built in wardrobe.

Electric heating included in rental price. Bed Linen (Egyptian Cotton) and Towels provided for use in cottage (not for beach use).

If travel cot required bed linen not supplied.

Gardens: large slate patio area with furniture. BBQ area and Summer House. Gravel parking area for for two cars at the side of cottage.

Watergate offers a peaceful retreat for guests, but within easy access of beaches, harbours and sheltered coves. Picturesque walks right on the doorstep. Looe only half hour/forty five minute stroll through the woods, or canoe along the river at high tide.

Talland Bay and Polperro are worthy of an amble along the coastal path with spectacular views. This area is rich in bird-life with kingfishers, herons, buzzards, egrets and many more.

For those who enjoy star gazing this is a perfect location due to clear skies the Milky Way is visible from the garden with the naked eye.

Looe has a good selection of small shops in particular an excellent fresh fish shop right by the market on the quay. It has many historic buildings including smugglers pubs and some of Cornwalls finest restaurants. There is a gently shelving child friendly beach and the coast is excellent for sport fishing.

A short drive away is picturesque Polperro and excellent sheltered bays at Talland, Lantivert and Lantic.

Why can't I call Keith and Dawn (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I pay the balance of my holiday?

You can pay the remaining balance of your holiday at any point. Simply go to Manage my holiday booking and click Pay now.

We’ll automatically charge the balance payment to the same payment method 10 days before it’s due. Go to Manage my holiday booking to see when the payment will be taken.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Keith and Dawn (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Keith and Dawn (the owner) a message.

If Keith and Dawn (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
