Location description from owner

The Cotswolds region

Often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds' and the 'Show Village of England', Broadway lies at the foot of the Cotswold hills on the border of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is steeped in history with its origins dating back to Roman times. Broadway village and its surrounding areas are defined as a 'Conservation Area' highlighting the special architectural and historic interests associated with the village. The 'broad way' is the wide high street which is lined with horse chestnut trees and honey-coloured Cotswold limestone buildings, many, like the manor house where our cottages are located, dating back to the 16th century. Lining Broadway's High Street are a number of independent shops, art and antique galleries, tea-rooms, coffee shops and restaurants which cater to various budgets and tastes.

In around Broadway there are numerous footpaths (including the Cotswold Way National Trail from Bath to Chipping Campden and the Wychavon Way) crossing some of the most beautiful English countryside with its spectacular scenery: rolling hills, honey-coloured Cotswold stone walls, Cotswold Lion sheep, historic Manor Houses, gardens and much much more.

Broadway is about a 2 hours' drive from central London and is within easy reach of places such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Worcester, Oxford and Bath.

Broadway

Broadway is an ideal base for exploring other parts of the Cotswolds and surrounding area. Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham Spa, Worcester, Oxford and Bath are all within easy access.

The Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is one of Britain's favourite destinations and a great all year round destination. All year there is plenty to see and do in the area including: cultural events (numerous festivals, sporting events, music and theatre), walking, cycling, visiting a historic church, house or one of the many beautiful gardens.
