With the sparkling and swiftly flowing river Windrush racing through the broad expanse of the village Green, the Venice of the Cotswolds as Bourton is referred to, is a treat for visitors no matter what time of year.

With its graceful low stone bridges spanning the small river at intervals, the center of the village is picture postcard perfect throughout the seasons. The Roman road is a major access route running across the area, taking the visitors from Moreton in Marsh in the North to Cirencester in the South.

''The Cotwolds'' is an area of land mainly in Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire famous for its outstanding natural beauty with its honey coloured stone villages and wonderful architecture. Since medieval times this area was famous for its wool trade and sheep rearing. Nowadays the tourism business is key to the area's success bringing visitors from all over the world.The area is criss-crossed by tracks and public footpaths to accommodate ramblers and walkers. Bourton on the Water lies at the very heart of the cotswolds and is the perfect location in which to explore this wonderful area.

Bourton on the Water is knwn as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds and offers a vast array of activities and places of interest, for instance: The Model Village (a perfect replica of the real one). Birdland with over 500 types of birds. The Perfumery, Motor Museum (home of Brum), The Dragon Fly Maze. Close by is Cotswold Farm Park- home of Adam from BBC Country File. Places of interest include The Slaughters, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Burford, Bilbury and Chipping Camden. Visit stately Homes like Blenheim Palace, Sudley Castle, Snowshill Manor, Hidcote Gardens, Lavender Fields in July at Broadway, and Warwick Castle and many many more. For the more active we have close by horse riding, golf, fishing and walking.

“Comfortable well appointed house in very attractive part of the countryside.”

Extremely comfortable house. Well appointed throughout in very attractive location. Within walking distance of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Situated in a lovely part of the countryside with excellent sights around. Particularly recommend Westonbirt arboretum.
