“Fabulous” We have just returned home, having spent two wonderful weeks here.
The location of Waylands is ideal, easy to find on the edge of the village with short walks to shop, pubs, playground and beach and what a beach it is! Safe, well-marshalled and facilities nearby. Lovely flat sand and creeks for children to play safely away from the main stretch of sea.
The cottage itself is stunning and very spacious with more than enough room for our party of eight, which included three children under the age of eight. The four double bedrooms are of excellent size. A very well-equipped kitchen and a superb new upstairs bathroom. The second bathroom and toilet downstairs is ideal, especially for those with young children who always want the toilet as soon as an adult steps into the shower
The garden is to die for! Very private and very safe with hidden surprises. The seating area and barbecue in the garden are great. We only wish we had had more time to spend in it but as the weather was so good we always seemed to be out and about.
The advantage of on site parking is also a bonus.
Anyone looking for a fabulous place to stay in Crantock need look no further than Waylands.
Not too far from Newquay lies the peaceful village of Crantock. It's the perfect spot for a relaxing seaside getaway. Why not choose a holiday rental in Crantock from our selection and start planning your next trip?
This coastal village is often forgotten by tourists who all clamour to get to the big beaches at Newquay, and that's great! It means that the entire bay is peaceful and unspoiled by noisy tourists, so you can enjoy some much-deserved peace and quiet.
The tight-knit community welcomes visitors throughout the year, and often hosts events to keep everyone entertained. Ask a local what's going on during your stay and they'll tell you the best places to go.
What to do
Explore the cave near the beach at low tide and see the carving of a woman's face, and its poetic inscription. The story behind says that a woman was riding along the bay when the rough sea swept her and her horse away, and her lover wrote the inscription in memory of her.

A wonderful stay at Trevose!
Trevose was all we imagined it to be & more. Perfect for my elderly Parents, my Brother & us with the much loved family dog. It was spacious, well presented & beautifully clean. My favourite was definitely the Spa Bath which soothed my aching legs after miles walked round the fantastic North Cornwall coast daily! Thanks to the owners Nick & Chris for their help & we would love to stay at Trevose again sometime in the near future. Linda & Paul Carter & Family …
Luxury Crantock Apartment, 5 minutes walk to beach
We stayed at Sunny cottage for the first time, we have been coming to Crantock for over 15 years staying in various cottages. We have to say this is by far the most comfortable accommodation we have stayed in. Great location and very spacious, perfect for a family with 2-3 children.
The walk too and from the beach is hilly so be warned (we always set up base camp at the Gannel end of the beach which is safe for children, other parts of the beach are closer) although it burned off a few of the extra calories we consumed during our stay!
Would definitely book again when we come back, thanks for a wonderful holiday!
Spacious modern house, near the beach, in quaint coastal village of Crantock.
Beautiful home, very comfortable and warm, everything you needed.
The house was in the village of Crantock which is a very beautiful small village near the sea. A great pub called the Albion also a little further away the Bowgie with amazing views over Crantock Bay.
The house itself was wonderful especially for separate couples as there were two en suite's. Ideal for a winter stay very warm, lots of space to spread out and comfortable.
The owner had made lovely scones which were there when we arrived with jam and Cornish clotted cream, what a lovely thought, not forgetting the Cornish butter. There is no doubt that if we wanted to book accommodation for a large group of separate couples we would book the property again. …
Perfect property and location
Set in a peaceful location with very large garden. Beautiful views over the Cornish countryside. Spacious and very well equipped property. Owner very helpful and quickly responded to queries. …
Waylands is a lovely quaint cottage in the beautiful village of crantock. We were a family of 8 and found there was plenty of space for us and the cottage was very well equipped. The pub, the Albion is a few mins walk away and we enjoyed some nice meals there. You can walk to the fab beach which is just down the road and Highfield cafe, just a few doors up did a lovely breakfast.
The highlight of the cottage was the garden which looked great in the day and when lit up in the evening.
If we go away without the dog again we will definitely return. …

Absolutely Fantastic house and views
From the moment we pulled in the car park we could see the view and didn`t disappoint when we entered the house, it is so lovely and so well equipped and from both lounges and the master bedroom there is a fantastic panoramic view of the beach and cliffs which we never tired of all week , the whole house is tastefully decorated and lovely little touches , like binoculars by the window, dressing gowns , a welcome pack etc . All the furniture is lovely and comfy
The kitchen is so well equipped didn't want for anything .
The pool and spa bath on site is good as is the C bay café a welcome excuse to indulge in their breakfasts as we did .
It was great we could take our dog too .
The only downside was actually leaving as could of stayed for ever ! …
