“Perfect” Just came back from a lovely weekend at Chester Canal View and it was fab, tidy size room with ensuite and a cute little kitchenette area with a breakfast basket which was filled with cereals, juice, cake bars, fruit etc Ken thought of everything, perfect host, sent loads of information about the surrounding areas which I also thought he made quite witty with his humour. Would definitely recommend Ken's place as it's only a 10 minute stroll along the wall which takes you into the centre with all the lovely old buildings and plenty of pubs along the canal. The vintage bus tour has been sold so we went on the open top bus and a ½ hour boat ride which was very nice. Thank you Ken we had a great time. Ceri and Gordon x
“Lovely apartment in ideal position” Lovely apartment with all facilities, ideally placed for town, river and canal. The secure parking was a great benefit. We left our cars all weekend and walked. Chester is a beautiful city. We had a great time and would certainly return.
“A Lovely Place to Stay” Woodfield Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is well equipped with everything you need, including pamphlets about the local area and places to visit. You are welcomed on your arrival with fresh milk, cookies, farm fresh eggs, and cut flowers on the dining room table.
The bungalow is very clean, comfortable and roomy. It has a large private garden and is surrounded by open fields.
The owner, Kathy, is extremely welcoming and she could not do enough to ensure that the five of us were comfortable during our stay. Visiting from Canada we were unfamiliar with the area, Kathy not only provided us with information regarding train travel to and from Chester, car rental locations, places to visit (and a host of other information), but supplied us with a GPS and giant map of Britain for our sightseeing excursions.
We enjoyed our stay at Woodfield, and would definitely go back if visting the Cheshire area.
“Self-catering? This wins the prize!” The property was immaculate and fitted out to the highest of standards. We have rarely had so much kitchen equipment provided in a self-catering property. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well in the peaceful surroundings. We loved watching the wildlife from our French window, and even had a warm enough afternoon (in March) to enjoy sitting on the decking by the pond. Julie, the owner, was most welcoming and helpful, not only on our arrival, but also during our stay, taking an interest in what we were doing and offering advice on where to go. If we were visiting the area again, this would be our first choice of accommodation. Friends who came to visit us in the cottage were most impressed - they even threatened to stay! (But we threw them out.)
“Large barn convertion” Yes this is a very roomy property with large patio doors looking over the countryside of Cheshire. We really appreciated the king size bed and roominess of the bedroom. Downstairs we had a lovely wooden floor, smart TV and good kitchen area. The conversion was bright and airy. We really enjoyed the views to the rear, with an outside table and chairs in the patio area. The location is close to Chester and the zoo, huge shopping centre, etc. and the local village has a co-op, chippie and Chinese as well as a post office. Great holiday spot.
“Top drawer cottage” We've just returned from a long weekend at this fantastic cottage. The cottage had everything plus more that you would wish to have for a holiday and the welcome gifts were a very pleasant surprise and also were consumed with gusto. We would recommend the cottage very highly and the owners were very friendly and unobtrusive. Absolutely brilliant. We'll return for more.
“Excellent location and house is perfect” Family group stayed for 60th birthday celebration. Directions and instructions spot on. Could not fault anything at all. House is beautifully furnished and decorated with everything you need - a home from home. Thank you to Melanie
“Excellent comfortable base for Chester” Myself, husband and two young sons, stayed at this lovely house in Shocklach. On arrival we were greeted by a beautifully clean, roomy and tidy home, with all the equipment a family needs, also some milk and bread which was a godsend.
The beds were really comfortable, and my children loved looking at the calves in the field opposite from their bedroom. We found we were in a perfect place to visit Chester and all the surrounding tourist places. Excellent value for a summer holiday break.
“Holly House” I highly recommend this property. Paula & David who own it are such great host. They have definitely thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable. The rooms are very spacious & exceptionally bright & clean with great views. Will definitely be going back.
“Excellent” Would like to say what a wonderful weekend I have shared with six friends,at The River House In Chester, beautiful room's views were lovely the location was prefect within 15 mins walk to the shops and restaurants, but still a relaxing spot to stay plus plenty of parking. Carnt stay enough really, just thankyou to Melanie for a great weekend
“Lovely stay at the Riverside Apartment......First Class in every respect.” I have just returned from a wonderful long weekend stay at the Riverside Apartment in Chester. I stayed with friends from my village, who have been going away together for the past 22 years !
The Apartment was First Class in every respect. The décor was very tasteful, the furnishings and beds were very comfortable and it was spotlessly clean on arrival.
The views from the Apartment of the River Dee were excellent. Very relaxing, sitting watching the world go by, especially with G & T in hand !
Everything was within walking distance of the Apartment, Restaurants, The City and even the Station, so absolutely no need for a car. Although so close to the City it was very, very peaceful at night.
On the Saturday we walked the City Walls. The Races were on so it made it a very colourful walk, observing all the lovely outfits ! We took a boat trip on the Sunday, as there was a huge boating event on the poor Captain spent the whole time avoiding the rowers, a very interesting ride for us.
All in all we had a really lovely weekend, fantastic accommodation, venue, company and even the weather was glorious what more could you ask for.
A very big Thank You to Melanie for the ease of booking and sharing her wonderful Apartment with us.

4A Stanley Place Chester
A stylish, comfortable and well equipped apartment in an excellent location.
4A Stanley Place is an excellent first floor apartment in a quiet location between the centre of Chester and the City Walls. We had a delightful welcome pack of essentials plus a box of chocs and a pack of my new favourite biscuits - butterscotch shortbread. It was great to be able to make a cuppa as we settled in without heading straight off to the shops. It is very well equipped with everything you'll need for a city break. The lounge/diner and the larger bedroom were ideal for our visit. We weren't traditional tourists. Our daughter was getting married at Chester Town Hall so we used the space for bride and bridesmaid preparations and the flat comfortably accommodated a photographer, videographer and two hairdressers too. There was still plenty of room for my wife and I to get changed in the ensuite double bedroom. The flat has a dedicated parking space monitored by CCTV and there is also an outside courtyard with furniture. The stairs from the ground floor can be tricky to negotiate with baggage but there is a cupboard and suitcase stand inside the ground floor entrance. All in all we had an excellent stay. …

Luxury city centre house inside historic city wall
Luxury and comfort
Lovely house to use as a base to visit Chester. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Bedrooms and bathrooms in particular had a luxury feel. Yet we were still perfectly comfortable staying here with our two toddlers. Great base to explore Chester as everything in the city centre is in walking distance. Would happily stay here again. …
Mill Barn Cottage
Booked Mill Barn for a family of 9 - 20th to 24th August. Lovely cottage well equipped with everything you need. Bedding clean and comfortable. My only 2 issues would be WiFi wasn’t brilliant to start but to be fair once sorted it was excellent. The other issue would be pool area... although the children swam in it most days it really does need a total scrub. The walls in pool were full of grim and the area around pool could do with good jet wash. But as I say I would have rated 5 stars had these 2 issues not been there as it truly was a lovely cottage. Would have loved to have stayed Monday to Sunday but the extra price for 2 more nights was crazy, hence why we moved on to a premier inn. …
