“Perfect” Just came back from a lovely weekend at Chester Canal View and it was fab, tidy size room with ensuite and a cute little kitchenette area with a breakfast basket which was filled with cereals, juice, cake bars, fruit etc Ken thought of everything, perfect host, sent loads of information about the surrounding areas which I also thought he made quite witty with his humour. Would definitely recommend Ken's place as it's only a 10 minute stroll along the wall which takes you into the centre with all the lovely old buildings and plenty of pubs along the canal. The vintage bus tour has been sold so we went on the open top bus and a ½ hour boat ride which was very nice. Thank you Ken we had a great time. Ceri and Gordon x
“Gorgeous little Gem in Chester” We had such a lovely time staying at the Little Tin Chapel, a wonderful place. We booked it so that we could go to Chester zoo, which we loved and only a 12 minute drive away. The Little Tin Chapel was a great find as it has lots of character and we really enjoyed lighting the wood burner and relaxing in the evening there. Definitely would recommend!
“Lovely apartment in ideal position” Lovely apartment with all facilities, ideally placed for town, river and canal. The secure parking was a great benefit. We left our cars all weekend and walked. Chester is a beautiful city. We had a great time and would certainly return.
“A Lovely Place to Stay” Woodfield Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is well equipped with everything you need, including pamphlets about the local area and places to visit. You are welcomed on your arrival with fresh milk, cookies, farm fresh eggs, and cut flowers on the dining room table.
The bungalow is very clean, comfortable and roomy. It has a large private garden and is surrounded by open fields.
The owner, Kathy, is extremely welcoming and she could not do enough to ensure that the five of us were comfortable during our stay. Visiting from Canada we were unfamiliar with the area, Kathy not only provided us with information regarding train travel to and from Chester, car rental locations, places to visit (and a host of other information), but supplied us with a GPS and giant map of Britain for our sightseeing excursions.
We enjoyed our stay at Woodfield, and would definitely go back if visting the Cheshire area.
“Serene in the green” The Oak Barn cottages are super nice, clean and serene. The place itself is very comfortable and light and airy, and Jayne is the hostess with a grand smile; very accomodating. I especially liked strolling down across the River Dee to Holt in Wales to get provisions. The greenery and tranquility of the area are very soothing. I just wish we had more time to visit the Peal O' Bells pub there. And, you're only about 15 minute drive from Chester and all that implies.
“Fantastic find, luxuriously appointed and perfectly placed to explore Chester” Spotlessly clean, wonderfully decorated, thoughtful little extras and ideally placed to explore Chester! My mum, sister , sister in law and I had a fun filled few days in this wonderful gem of a property. Everything is catered for with lots of little extras too.
Thank you x
“Excellent location and house is perfect” Family group stayed for 60th birthday celebration. Directions and instructions spot on. Could not fault anything at all. House is beautifully furnished and decorated with everything you need - a home from home. Thank you to Melanie
“Large barn convertion” Yes this is a very roomy property with large patio doors looking over the countryside of Cheshire. We really appreciated the king size bed and roominess of the bedroom. Downstairs we had a lovely wooden floor, smart TV and good kitchen area. The conversion was bright and airy. We really enjoyed the views to the rear, with an outside table and chairs in the patio area. The location is close to Chester and the zoo, huge shopping centre, etc. and the local village has a co-op, chippie and Chinese as well as a post office. Great holiday spot.
“Lovely house right in the centre of Chester” Little gem of a house-felt immediately at home! Couldn't wish for a better location to sight-see Chester and surrounding area. Would recommend to friends and family visiting Chester.
“Lovely Period Cottage in excellent location” Tarvin is a beautiful village on the outskirts of Chester and this is a lovely period cottage with exposed beams and loads of character.
We used it not only as a base to go to Ellesemere Port and Chester but also to wonder around the lovely countryside in the area.
Josephine was a magnificent host who greeted us and provided for all our need - tea and coffee were provided and there were plenty of activities in the house if we needed distractions.
I highly recommend this property as good value for money, a good period cottage and good access to the area.
“Fantastic.” What a lovely time we all had .The house was fantastic with the owners having considered everything e em down to milk and butter in the fridge. We have no negatives to report at all
.cant wait to stay there again!
“Lovely stay at the Riverside Apartment......First Class in every respect.” I have just returned from a wonderful long weekend stay at the Riverside Apartment in Chester. I stayed with friends from my village, who have been going away together for the past 22 years !
The Apartment was First Class in every respect. The décor was very tasteful, the furnishings and beds were very comfortable and it was spotlessly clean on arrival.
The views from the Apartment of the River Dee were excellent. Very relaxing, sitting watching the world go by, especially with G & T in hand !
Everything was within walking distance of the Apartment, Restaurants, The City and even the Station, so absolutely no need for a car. Although so close to the City it was very, very peaceful at night.
On the Saturday we walked the City Walls. The Races were on so it made it a very colourful walk, observing all the lovely outfits ! We took a boat trip on the Sunday, as there was a huge boating event on the poor Captain spent the whole time avoiding the rowers, a very interesting ride for us.
All in all we had a really lovely weekend, fantastic accommodation, venue, company and even the weather was glorious what more could you ask for.
A very big Thank You to Melanie for the ease of booking and sharing her wonderful Apartment with us.

The apartment didn't disappoint! Had two nights at Riverside Apartment with friends and it lived up to expectations. The location is superb, being on the River Dee was a delight, enjoyed the view from the window of the boats and the rowing club activity on the water. Lovely café less than 100 yards away next to the Rowing Club, who do superb breakfasts, and a great restaurant less than 100 yards in the opposite direction. Nice five minute walk to even more restaurants, bars and shops. The apartment itself had everything we needed and was very spacious. Mel (the owner) left a lovely welcome pack which was a nice surprise. Clean, modern and very comfortable, couldn't ask for anything more. We'll be back next year! Thank you Mel. …

A place that wants for nothing.
Great find and only a short walk into Chester or onto the city walls.
