“Wonderful townhouse.” Stayed here with my wife, daughter and son-in-law for a long weekend (Friday to Tuesday). A wonderful apartment with the added bonus of an integral garage and a secure parking place, taking away the worry of where to park and avoiding exorbitant city centre parking charges. The accommodation is well presented and has everything you need for a pleasant stay and just a short stroll into Chester. One small downside was the picture showing the cinema room with pull down screen has now been replaced with large screen TV, however Sky is not available on this but the much smaller TV in the lounge, although this did not detract from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend this property.
“Luxury” A very pleasant three day break in an extremely well furnished and equipped accommodation. Everything was of top quality throughout including the welcome pack which was very much appreciated. Mags (the owner) was very welcoming and helpful but in no-way obtrusive. This is 5star+ accommodation run by a 5star+ person.
“Self-catering? This wins the prize!” The property was immaculate and fitted out to the highest of standards. We have rarely had so much kitchen equipment provided in a self-catering property. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well in the peaceful surroundings. We loved watching the wildlife from our French window, and even had a warm enough afternoon (in March) to enjoy sitting on the decking by the pond. Julie, the owner, was most welcoming and helpful, not only on our arrival, but also during our stay, taking an interest in what we were doing and offering advice on where to go. If we were visiting the area again, this would be our first choice of accommodation. Friends who came to visit us in the cottage were most impressed - they even threatened to stay! (But we threw them out.)
“Canal view.” A very comfortable and well considered room in which to relax and enjoy the views from.
Ken is very welcoming and full of helpful local knowledge.
A great place to call base and explore the local attractions.
Well worth the price, clean, quiet and relaxed.
“Lovely apartment in ideal position” Lovely apartment with all facilities, ideally placed for town, river and canal. The secure parking was a great benefit. We left our cars all weekend and walked. Chester is a beautiful city. We had a great time and would certainly return.
“Gorgeous little Gem in Chester” We had such a lovely time staying at the Little Tin Chapel, a wonderful place. We booked it so that we could go to Chester zoo, which we loved and only a 12 minute drive away. The Little Tin Chapel was a great find as it has lots of character and we really enjoyed lighting the wood burner and relaxing in the evening there. Definitely would recommend!
“A Lovely Place to Stay” Woodfield Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is well equipped with everything you need, including pamphlets about the local area and places to visit. You are welcomed on your arrival with fresh milk, cookies, farm fresh eggs, and cut flowers on the dining room table.
The bungalow is very clean, comfortable and roomy. It has a large private garden and is surrounded by open fields.
The owner, Kathy, is extremely welcoming and she could not do enough to ensure that the five of us were comfortable during our stay. Visiting from Canada we were unfamiliar with the area, Kathy not only provided us with information regarding train travel to and from Chester, car rental locations, places to visit (and a host of other information), but supplied us with a GPS and giant map of Britain for our sightseeing excursions.
We enjoyed our stay at Woodfield, and would definitely go back if visting the Cheshire area.
“First class quality accommodation with an eye for detail.” The accommodation is of an exceptionally high standard with careful thought and consideration going into all aspects of the furnishings and fittings. The little extras such as Netflix on the TV were a welcome addition. The overall accommodation helped us to enjoy the area in Chester and beyond. We visited Llandudno, Chester Zoo and Liverpool on separate days and these were easily managed from this superb base.
“Top drawer cottage” We've just returned from a long weekend at this fantastic cottage. The cottage had everything plus more that you would wish to have for a holiday and the welcome gifts were a very pleasant surprise and also were consumed with gusto. We would recommend the cottage very highly and the owners were very friendly and unobtrusive. Absolutely brilliant. We'll return for more.
“Lovely house, perfect location” My friend and I visited Chester for the first time, we were not disappointed in the city, the races and definitely not our accommodation.
We loved it and we will definitely be returning
“Tarvin” Very good location for all the attractions. The cottage was full of toys, books and everything we needed to make for an enjoyable stay. Very clean and comfortable. Great wi-fi access for guests.
“Lovely stay in a lovely house” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely house, it was a real home from home. The house had everything we needed and more. There was lots of information about Chester and things to do. Paul was very helpful in responding to any queries before we arrived and also gave us some good recommendations for restaurants. The location of the house is excellent, it is an easy 20 minute stroll into Chester city centre, and worth walking along the canal side to get there. If we are back in the area would definitely stay here again.
“Excellent accommodation in a very good location” My wife and I stayed for a week in the Tower Wharf Apartment next to the canal in Chester. The apartment was superb containing everything needed for our stay. All the rooms were spotless and expertly arranged and decorated. Gail, the housekeeper, welcomed us explaining where everything was. There were eggs, butter, milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge also bread, biscuits, tea and coffee plus lots of other stuff all of which was much appreciated. Chester city centre was within a 12 minute walk from the apartment either by the canal towpath or by the city walls. I have stayed in a few apartments and cottages over the years. This is one of the best.
“Large barn convertion” Yes this is a very roomy property with large patio doors looking over the countryside of Cheshire. We really appreciated the king size bed and roominess of the bedroom. Downstairs we had a lovely wooden floor, smart TV and good kitchen area. The conversion was bright and airy. We really enjoyed the views to the rear, with an outside table and chairs in the patio area. The location is close to Chester and the zoo, huge shopping centre, etc. and the local village has a co-op, chippie and Chinese as well as a post office. Great holiday spot.

We stayed for a night in May in this property. It’s a lovely little house. Beautifully decorated and in a great location just a mile or so from the centre of Chester along the canal.

Just perfect for 3 Cousins meeting up
We have just arrived home from our weekend away in Chester to this beautiful cottage. We have had an amazing time in this lovely home from home. Barbara & Andy have thought of everything, their cottage is full of character and comfort. Everything that you could need has been thought of, beds and bed linen were comfortable and luxurious, lovely soft fluffy towels and even a breakfast hamper. The cottage is finished to a high specification and is absolutely immaculate.
The location is excellent as well just round the corner from the main shopping area at one end and at the other end the canal, restaurants and the park. With permit parking as well on the road this made the location perfect.
Thank you so much to Barbara & Andy for the use of this gorgeous cottage we will most certainly return. …
I and my granddaughter spent a lovely week in this charming Victorian terraced cottage. The location was perfect for visiting all the sights of Chester, the Roman wall and gardens are just down the street. A 5 minutes' walk along the wall takes you into the centre of town and in the opposite direction even less to go down to the river where you can take a boat-ride, visit the Roman gardens , amphitheatre and go for a stroll round Grosvenor Park to see the squirrels. There are several restaurants nearby. and a handy Tesco express around the corner. After a busy day sight-seeing we were happy to relax at the well-equipped cottage . …
