From the owner

Driftwood is situated on the River Dee, next to the Old Dee Bridge. It is a beautifully refurbished fisherman`s cottage with stunning ever changing views out of all but one window, which allows you to feed the ducks while you are having breakfast. Downstairs fully fitted kitchen with granite worktops, sitting and dining area, wood burning stove, and shower room. Spiral staircase leads to mezzanine with wardrobe and occasional single bed and the main bedroom with king size bed and TV plus en suite toilet and washbasin. Outside there is a shared patio and steps leading down to river.

It is simply the best of both worlds, being in the village of Handbridge a conservation area, with its award winning butchers, deli,newsagents and 4 pubs all on your doorstep. A stroll along the river footpath leads you to the meadows an ideal place for a picnic, complete with cows. Not many city centers can boast that. Alternatively a two minute walk over the bridge and you are in the city center where there is something for everyone including Cathedral, shopping on the famous "rows", restaurants, nightlife, art galleries, museum, the beautiful Grosvenor Park with its summer open air concerts and activities even a Roman amphitheater the list is endless. The world famous Chester Racecourse is a five minute stroll (ten minutes in stilettos) add to that the many festivals through out the year. No matter how many times you visit Chester you will always discover something different

Parking outside 20mins. On street parking off Eaton Rd is a 2min drive 10min walk near collage, also 2 park in my drive schemes

Train station 10 min taxi ride.

Nearest Airport Liverpool or Manchester

If you want to go further afield, we are on the boarder of North Wales with beautiful scenery, mountains, beaches, walks etc. Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium and Cheshire Oaks outlet village are also nearby easily accessible by car or bus.

Why can't I call Elizabeth (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Elizabeth (the owner) a message.

If Elizabeth (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
