“Very well equipped and well-placed apartment” This apartment is in a newish small block in a residential area an easy walking distance from the centre of Nantwich. A large supermarket (Morrison's) open until 9 most evenings is even nearer and is the closest location for daily newspapers and magazines (Sunday newspapers available early from their petrol station).
The apartment itself has everything you might need with a full-size fridge and freezer; an oven (electric) plus (gas) hot plates; microwave oven; TV etc, along with various devices connected to the TV (with the free on-air channels) and a WifFi Internet connection.
The standard leaving time of 11 AM (to 2PM costs extra) enables the owners to clean the house before the next renters and I was happy to see that they did this carefully which - apart from cleaning thoroughly - means that they don't throw away things like tea bags / coffee sachets / unopened still valid milk; a bag of frozen chips etc. which could be used by the next renters. Similarly although we didn't this time use the washing machine I remember that on our previous visit when we did there was washing powder available.
Yes, we have stayed twice here. First for two weeks and this time for one week. We are now on a one week per six months schedule of visiting my mother in a nearby care home and before booking the flights for the next visit we will be checking for availability of this apartment.
I have had only two minor problems with the apartment. One is that the "free internet" is in fact a certain time allowance. This allowance ran out when we stayed for two weeks (it did not run out when we stayed for one week). The other is that I couldn't get the PS3 in the house to play back DVDs. This was no doubt my fault (and lack of patience) as I don't have a PS3 at home.
“Relaxing tranquil” Rented the Adele Marie for 5 days, in March. Martin the owner couldn't have been more helpful, the narrow boat was well equipped, even had a small hair dryer ( which I couldn't have done without) central heating and a wood burning stove. A welcom pack was provided with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, there was also a small carton of milk in the full size fridge. T towels, towels and all bed linen, coal and fire lighters along with matches. Every thing had been thought of.
Once the fire was lit the boat was warm and toasty, on an evening you could sit in the comfy arm chairs reading or watching tv, or if moored up near a pub have a meander along the canal tow path and have a pint. Very relaxing .
Your home away from home | Perfect for families and business travellers
Have stayed in the apartment twice now and found it ideal when visiting Nantwich. Town centre within walking distance and two supermarkets a few minutes drive or 5-10min walk. Very quiet, you do occasionally hear the trains but it is not disturbing. Car parking bay right outside flat. Clean and warm didn't even need the heating on this time. Good showers and bath if you prefer. Large fridge and separate freezer which is great if you are cooking meals. Will rent again when necessary. Took my own pillows this time as I felt on the first stay pillows were not very fresh, but that is a personal choice. …
Adele Marie - Lovely cosy 58ft Narrowboat
Affordable boat holiday
We stayed for 3 nights and found everything we could possibly need including fuel for the log burner. Beds are small but remember it is a narrow boat, very comfy and clean crisp bedding. Central heating kept us nice and warm on some very cold and wet days and by the time we had the log fire burning we were toasty. i
In the wet weather its a very muddy job mooring so bring wellies. We enjoyed the locks and although they can be hard work if only one person working them its very enjoyable.
Great host with lots of useful information if you want it..
Compare this to other boat hire companies prices and this boat is a steal.
My only negative would be the bed settee is low so not the best for me but thats my personal opinion, I'm sure most will be happy with it. TV has USB port so if you have a USB powered hard drive as we do we could watch movies.
All in all a great little boat (58ft) and a great price you will not match anywhere else.
Pinfold Barn detached country cottage
We spent a lovely few days at Pinfold Barn, it was the perfect location for meeting with family in Staffordshire as well as friends in Manchester and Liverpool.
The barn was equipped with everything we could need, there was plenty of space but it was warm and cosy too. We travelled with 2 cocker spaniels who loved the outdoor space. Thank you. …
Canalside Apartment in historic mill
We booked this late after being let down by another property but we're pleased that fate took us to this lovely location. The flat is of a great standard and the location on the canal with 2 great pubs within a few minutes walk made this a perfect weekend stay. Loved watching boats go through the link bridge and everyone at the boat yard was friendly and helpful. …
