This superb Lake District holiday cottage in the Troutbeck Valley offers a unique opportunity for families or friends to 'get away from it all', without straying far from the Lake District's tourist attractions and other scenic highlights. Troutbeck is one of the Lake District's quieter villages, set in blissful rural surroundings between Ambleside and Windermere, and right at the start of the famous Kirkstone Pass which provides your scenic route to Ullswater. The valley is laced with renowned Lake District walks, and scattered with traditional Lakeland cottages and country pubs (don't miss the fabulous Queen's Head!). It's a truly magical scene.
Windermere village is only a short drive away, with shops, restaurants and an excellent Booths supermarket for stocking up the kitchen. Drive only a couple of miles further and you'll reach Bowness on Lake Windermere's eastern shores. There you'll find an array of evening entertainment, boating activities, the Royalty Cinema and the Old Laundry Theatre.
The same distance to your west is Ambleside, on Lake Windermere's northern shores. This cosmopolitan Lake District village is a place to while away an entire day - lose-yourself shops, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and of course the delights of the lake shore.
