“Lovely cottage in Ambleside” Had a lovely few days relaxing at this cottage, larger thank expected, perfect location with a lovely welcome touch.
“Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location” We had a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage, 3 adults was a bit cosy but we were lucky enough to be able to eat outside in the grassed courtyard every evening. Generally very well equipped - only problem we had is that the fridge/freezer is actually a fridge with a tiny icebox inside but the residents in number one came to our rescue and let us keep some frozen food in their freezer. The residents around the courtyard helped to make the holiday, the communal BBQ they invited us to join in with on the last night meant a lovely end to a very relaxing break. Would definitely return.

“Lovely group of cottages set in spectacular location with breathtaking views” The spacious cottage is one of five located in a valley and set in rural countryside approximately 1 mile from Ambleside with ample parking and is very safe for young children. On arrival there was a vase of fresh flowers, milk in the fridge, a range of sachets for drinks and a plate of biscuits which we thought was a very nice touch. The cottage is upside down so the lounge and kitchen/diner are upstairs. The views are spectacular. The decor is very pleasant, in keeping with a country cottage, pine and squashy settees which are comfortable and homely. The facilities are very good. The log burner in the lounge is electric but is a nice feature. The kingsize bed was very comfortable. The en-suite is well-appointed, all towels and linen are provided, the shower is very efficient and there was always plenty of hot water. We found the use of free wi fi very useful. All the furnishings and fittings are of good condition. There is a back door leading to a pretty shared patio area. The Information Room is full of brochures with ideas of things to do and places to go. There are many walks you can do from the cottage without using your car. It is an excellent location for exploring The Lake District. The scenery in Autumn is magnificent. A little expensive but worth it.

“Cosy, very comfortable, well equipped accomodation in a beautiful location.” The accommodation is just big enough for two people but there is all the equipment needed. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was great to be able to step outside and sit in a courtyard with a lovely view. The garden and courtyard are shared with the other cottages. The area is excellent for walking. It is a great location for the central and southern Lake District. There is a reliable bus service through Ambleside. The information in the Reception area is very useful especially other guests comments on local eating places. There is no large supermarket very near, so it is best to come prepared.

“Fabulous place” Stayed here for four days with my wife and two sons, aged 16 & 10. The cottage is fabulous and has everything you need. Owners left a welcome pack of milk, bread, orange juice and a bottle of wine. Cottage is spotlessly clean. Great location for the town, loads of places to eat and drink. Great for walks and close to ferry. Great to have a parking space too. Would definitely recommend.

“This place really ticked all the boxes” A beautiful setting, so private yet close enough to Ambleside. All staff from the booking to the arrival were excellent. The kitchen had all we needed and the extra touches of having board games, high chair, stair gates, XBox were so helpful with children. Very comfortable.
“Grove Cottages are idyllic and tranquil, giving top class accommodation.” We stayed in Middle Grove cottage, it was top class. Spotlessly clean, every need catered for, nice touches included flowers on the table along with a plate of home made biscuits, dishwasher tablets, laundry liquid, washing up liquid and some basic toiletries. The manager of the cottages Sarah was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. When booking the cottage Andy one of the owners was really helpful and made the process very easy. The setting for these cottages is idyllic and tranquil, but close enough to Ambleside that we could walk in and sample some of the lovely eating places - our favourite was Zefferellis. We most certainly intend to return for another fabulous break, and have already recommended Grove Cottages to our friends, family and colleagues.

“Beautiful Cottage” This cottage is perfect for couples. Everything is there with lovely view and it’s a great location to explore the lakes, will definitely go back. The cottage was hard to find at first as postcode given doesn’t match location according to Sar Nav. It is also on main road so a little difficult to see pulling out. However, when inside the cottage you do not hear the noise of the road.
