“Great value for money”

Had everything we needed. Close to Alton Towers. Good communication with the owners. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would recommend and would definitely return.

Owner's reply: Hi Laurie, Thank you for your review. Its great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to see you again in the future. Linda and Paul

“Birch cottage”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2017

What a great place to spend your holidays, great location with lovely owners who are on hand if needed but also leave you to your own devices. On arrival milk tea coffee and biscuits are waiting for you which is really appreciated after a 9 hour drive. The cottage has a great secure garden which was great for my football loving son and diesel the pig was right over the wall he's super friendly and loves an apple or cake being popped over. the cottage in itself has everything that you would need but to make it perfect a wee lick of paint wouldn't go wrong but maybe I'm just being a bit picky as I'd stay again without a single doubt, it's a perfect base for a brilliant holiday

Owner's reply: Hi Laura, Thank you so much for your review. Its good to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Maybe see you again in the future. Best wishes, Linda and Paul

“Comfy stay, great location!”

We stayed in the Birch cottage on Broadhurst Farm. This cottage is 10 minutes from Alton Towers and many other outside visitor hot spots. There were many leaflets recommending where to visit. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. There is a dishwasher, washer/tumble and pegs and line to dry your clothes. We were able to request a baby cot and stair gate at no extra charge which freed up valuable space in the car. The grounds are well kept and secured with gates for peace of mind when the children were out playing on the trampoline and swings. The hosts Linda and Paul assure you to let them know if you need anything at all. They stay in there own house on the farm, you have lots of privacy. They arranged for Hugo the rabbit to visit the children. Other animals that you can see and pet are the gineau pigs and Diesel the pig. We will definitely be returning in the future. We ordered our a food shop to be delivered when we arrived, Tesco had problems finding us so we had to drive to collect which wasn't convenient. Asda were delivering to guests no problem. Recommend Tissington bike hire/trail (15mins away) Dovedale stone and hill climbing (15-20mins away) Poole Cavern (30 mins spectacular drive away)
