“Beautiful Cottage”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2016

I have stayed in this small cottage a couple of times. Suitable for a couple. It's lovely cosy, it has a nice character. It's very close to the beach and the shops, a walking distance to the train station. I would be happy to come back again.

Thank you so much for taking time to write a review for our little home your comments are much appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you back Best wishes Julianne

“Great place to stay”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2016

We had a lovely stay in this little cottage. It is very clean and convenient to all amenities. Great shower in bathroom and kitchen well equipped. Very comfy bed which was good after a day of walking around beautiful St Ives. We parked behind the cottage and paid for a weeks stay which gave us covered parking and our own parking space. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your kind comments we are pleased you enjoyed your stay and would be delighted to welcome you back again in the future Best wishes Julianne

“Quaint little flat minutes from everything.”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2016

Just had a short break in this lovely little flat. Perfect location. Well equipped for selfcatering perfect for single people or couple not those with toddlers or infirm due to spiral narrow staircase. Shower fab On the whole very clean although front room rug grubby (possibly not best colour when pets are welcome)and smelt of pets plus fridge had few spillages on door. . Didnt stop me enjoying this little place though or want to return.i couldnt quite work out which area was garden as overgrown and someone letting dog out there without cleaning up etc but didnt need it so didnt worry me. Bed linen v clean and bed comfy. Be prepared for seagulls alarm call! Hope to return!

Thank you Joanne for taking time to comment I'm glad we were able to accommodate you are very short notice. Our garden is the patio patch immediately in front of the property so should not be overgrown.? Thank you for bringing to our attention the rug being grubby we will certainly take this up with our cleaners as they are usually reliable, we are disappointed to hear you have this experience with the dog excrement, we will endeavour to find out who the offender is, it must be someone new as we have never encountered this problem before. We are pleased however that you have not been put off and hope to accommodate you again sometime. Best wishes Julianne

“We will be returning!”

What an amazing weekend! St Ives is so beautiful and this little cottage/flat was a home-from-home, somewhere lovely to come back to and relax after wonderful days exploring the gorgeous local area. Although small, this lovely holiday home has everything you could ever need, it's clean and comfortable, the shower was great and it's very well decorated. A real gem hidden away in the higldy-pigldy streets of St Ives. It's less than 5 mins walk to the harbour and some of the best restaurants we could have hoped for! The stairs are a little tight (although this is the best use of the space) and the mattress was a little hard for our taste but neither of these have put us off wanting to return again next year!! What an amazing weekend!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we are glad you had an amazing weekend and hope to be able to accommodate you or your friends again soon. All best wishes Julianne

“Cute and compact with everything you could possibly need”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

Very easy to book and really easy to find. This cottage is right in the centre on St Ives which makes it ideal. My partner and I got the train to St Ives and the cottage was in easy walking distance. The cottage looked really cute from the outside and the inside did not disappoint - the kitchen was well equiped, the bathroom was lovely and the living room was cosy. There is narrow spiral staircase to the bedroom but this was not a problem at all (my partner is over 6 foot so I was concerned he might bump his head before we went but this was not an issue in the slightest). The bedroom was a lovely size and the bed was very comfy. All in all we had a great weekend away and I would thoroughly reccommend this cottage to anyone - great location and great value for money. It is a perfect size for 2 people.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and for taking time to review, we really appreciate feedback and hope we can accommodate you again in the future. With very best wishes Julianne

“Annual trip never fails to please”

We look forward to our holiday in St Ives every year and were delighted to find this little place about 4 years ago. It's quirky and there is something new each year as the owners develop the place, it is tastefully done and we are booked for next year again already. Beautiful relaxed place and this year we had the weather better than the Med! Thanks.

Didn't you just catch the heatwave - you lucky folk! Thanks for booking again for next year we look forward to being able to accommodate you for a long time into the future. Thanks for taking time to comment too. Best wishes Julianne

“Quaint well located 'home from home'.”

Ideally situated cottage away from the main street but in easy strolling distance of the shops and harbour. Peaceful and residential area with no traffic noise was a nice surprise. The cottage is bright and cosy and well decorated and equipped. Access to all amenities and facilities is easy practically level walk (little slope). The shower is better than the one we have at home, nice to have a bath too. I shall share this little secret with my friends and sure to be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, we hope to be able to accommodate you or your friends again soon for a tranquil short break. All the best Julianne

“Cosy Cottage in St Ives Centre”

Reviewed 24 Jun 2013

We stayed for 3 days at this cottage and overall we had a good time. The property is detached, but closely hemmed in by neighbouring houses and apartments and one sometimes felt slightly claustrophobic. The outside seating area is very much on public view. The bedroom is reached by a steep spiral staircase that would be impossible for less agile folks - and not recommended for speedy trips to the downstairs bathroom in the middle of the night! Nevertheless we had a nice stay - though, thank goodness, we didn't have any neighbours in the separate upstairs apartment. That would have been a nightmare given the thin walls and close proximity of the two apartments. There was no radio, no internet and the kitchen equipment was very basic: we even had to purchase two wine glasses - which we left as a present for the next visitors.

Dear Tony Thank you for taking time to comment. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy the higgledy pigglety streets of St Ives and the community feel it offers. We, like you are concerned about the quirky spiral staircase which is why we point it out in our advertising particulars. We feel that we advertise fairly and accurately in our description, we are disappointed that our home didn’t meet your expectations. Thank you for the wine glasses, the 6 we put in must have been broken recently. I am pleased you managed to have a good time overall. Best wishes Julianne

“Cosy and comfortable hideaway in the centre of St. Ives”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2013

I was lucky enough to spend 3 nights here in early June; the cottage is really welcoming and tucked-away in a peaceful corner fo St.Ives but just 2 mins walk from the shops and 5 mins from the beach. Comfy bed in a sunlit bedroom, comfy sofa and fab bathroom with an amazing shower ! Everything you need and more. Will definately stay again. Top tip there is a car park which is less than 5 mins away up a set of steps which is council run and cost effective.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your short break, thank you for booking with us and taking time to comment. Hope we can accommodate you again soon. Best wishes Julianne

“Location!”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2013

The location was perfect for us-2 minutes from the Guildhall where my husband joined in Easter judo class. and the weather was horrible when we stayed, but we did not have to walk around St Ives. As described- stores and take away, cafe, a cinema, restaurants, pubs, etc- all were within 2 minutes. very convenient. The place has a character. As someone reviewed before, the narrow stairs to the bedroom may not be good for old people or big person, it was well designed to maximise the space. The kitchen has everything too. (except a washing machine, but a laundrette is a few minute away). The room is very warm too. It is ideal for a couple rather than a family with small kids and old people. The cottage itself is perfect for a couple. Only problem we had was another property upstairs- a family with 2 small kids who tend to get up very early in the morning moved in the next day of our arrival had made noise by going up and down on two stairs surrounding the cottage (one must be located next to our bedroom, and another one is outside which takes them to their entrance), especially in the bedroom. The wall in this building is very thin and we heard every single word they were saying as well as they were walking around. It would have been a perfect place for us if this family upstairs did not move in and had waken up us everyday during our holiday. But definitely, we want to come back here. (maybe avoiding the kids holiday period).

Thank you so much for your kind comments, the great thing about St Ives is there is always something going on whatever the weather. I am sorry you were disturbed by the neighbours, we are currently improving the sound proofing between the flats and hope this will resolve the issue. We look forward to being able to accommodate you again. All best wishes Julianne
