The modern and fully equipped kitchen, includes a range cooker, family-sized fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and of course a dishwasher. The living area is light, spacious and open plan, with living room and dining area, and a sash window overlooking the garden.

Upstairs there's a double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, bunks for two (full-size) and a twin room on the top floor. Also on the first floor is the family-sized bathroom with bath, sink, toilet, bidet (if you're feeling continental) and a separate walk-in shower as well as a dressing room with extensive hanging space and shelves for clothes.

Up to the top floor, the bunk room has a wardrobe and shelves and the twin room is a large loft room with fantastic views across St. Ives and out to sea.

The sunny garden is a good size and a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of town. With a large table and chairs for eating out and a summer house for the children to play in.

Pop through the gate from the garden and wander down the path and you're at the Barbara Hepworth museum in less than five minutes and then just a minute or so more and you are in the heart of St Ives town. From the front door, it's a five minute walk to Porthmeor beach, town or Tate St Ives.

High chairs and travel cots available at no extra charge. Our home is family friendly with toys, books and DVDs for little ones, buckets and spades as well as plastic plates, cups and bowls, a handy step in the bathroom and a changing mat if you need it.

The peninsula benefits from long warm summer days and great weather all year round, making it an ideal holiday destination at any time of the year

St Ives

St Ives offers everything you need for a fantastic British holiday by the sea at any time of the year. A wide range of places to eat and drink, endless things to do as well as a fabulous choice of sandy beaches where you can just sit and enjoy the views or go for a dip.

St Ives has been a popular holiday destination for years because of its broad appeal – it has a long artistic heritage as well as being perfectly family friendly. The remarkably picturesque town has a number of stunning beaches plus the harbour and beach, both a hive of activity with all the comings and goings at the local restaurants and shops as well as the fishing boats and sail boats.

The pretty, narrow streets of St Ives are chock full of galleries, craft shops, cafes and restaurants with, of course, a choice of places to try a cream tea or a local pasty.

For your day to day essentials there is a Co-op local, Boots the Chemist and several banks, as well as a large Tesco supermarket on the road to Carbis Bay.

There are many exciting activities around town – from surf lessons, to golf, fishing, coastal walks and boat trips.

“A perfect base for a perfect holiday in St Ives”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2016

On arriving at No 8 Bowling Green Terrace, we instantly felt at home, cosy and comfortable. No 8 had all the facilities we needed for our break in St Ives, and we especially loved the main bedroom with its seat in the window, overlooking the spectacular views of the sea. The kitchen is extremely well appointed, and had every gadget, pot, pan and cafetiere you could want. When the sun was shining, we spent time in the garden, sitting outside and enjoying a glass of wine (or two!). The location of No 8 also enabled us to have leisurely walks out in the evening in search of supper along the sea front, and not too far to walk back afterwards! The comfortable sofa and chairs meant we could sit and relax with the newspapers or a good book after a hard day sightseeing and eating Cornish pasties and cream teas. There was a lot of information available, and also maps, so that we were able to plan our days out visiting some of the spectacular beaches and exploring the heritage sites around the area. We will hopefully be able to return to St Ives in 2017, and if No 8 Bowling Green Terrace is available, we shall certainly be making another booking! All in all, an excellent location making for a wonderful stay! Thank you so much.

“5* Home from home holiday!”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2013

Stayed here with friends for a week at the end of June. Have nothing negative to say about the trip or property. Owner and cleaners were lovely and couldn't do more for you. The property was spotless with a lovely updated decor and in a great location with amazing views. Highly recommend this property and will be visiting again in the future! :)

“Perfect hideaway for a romantic winter weekend away.”

Reviewed 14 Jan 2013

Welcoming and cosy. It's in a great location, close enough to walk to everything St Ives has to offer, still lively enough in the winter months and plenty of restaurants stay open. It's a really relaxing home from home, everything you could possibly need is provided and all top quality.

“The perfect beach boutique retreat”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2012

We had the most perfect stay in this gem of a house. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating with our needs. On arrival there was everything we needed in the fridge until we settled in and made a trip to the shops. The interior furnishings definitely had the wow factor but were practical with our 15 month old son, with videos and toys to keep him entertained. We enjoyed looking out at the harbour from the second floor twin room and will be back to stay in the future.

“A perfect place for a perfect holiday”

Reviewed 1 May 2012

The house is a gem. The location is superb with gorgeous views of the bay, very quiet, yet very close both to the town centre and to the Portmeor beach. The house is very comfortable, spacious and full of light. Our children loved it. From the first moment we all felt very much at home there and had a lovely relaxing time there. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. A big thank you!

“Unbeatable location in St Ives - Go there!”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2012

Really great place with spacious rooms and well equipped kitchen, perfect for self-caterers. Tucked behind the Tate so really close to the centre of St. Ives but just behind all the hustle and bustle so a fabulous retreat. Couldn't have wished for a better location. Sea views from each of the bedrooms and huge bathroom too. Garden a real sun trap if you get bored of the many beaches or galleries (unlikely!).
