The mild climate makes it a pleasant place to visit all year round. There is a wide range of restaurants and shops, most of which remain open all year round.

For walkers, the South West Coast Path passes through St Ives and stretches in both directions over a rugged coastline to the west and south and glorious sandy beaches and dunes to the east.
