Easily explored on foot, the town is spread around a main hub and consists of an interesting mix of buildings from 13th Century examples to those from the present day. The town offers a variety of shops and restaurants whilst golf enthusiasts will be well served by the 'Old Course' – constructed in the 16th Century – and the modern venues of championship events and the five alternative public courses.
