From the owner

The sea is right opposite your holiday flat in the traditional fishing village of Pittenweem. Watch the boats return to harbour in the evening and spot the sea life from your windows, or go for a stroll along the shore.

Thistle Flat offers self-catering accommodation for 2 or 3 adults, or a family with 2 children. The ground floor entrance leads to a large front room, with kitchen, dining table, TV, comfy chairs and sofabed.

*Separate en suite double bedroom.

*Free parking available outside the Flat door.

The Space

• Thistle Flat is a brand new conversion on the ground floor of a historic seafront house, built in 1874.

• It aims to provide accommodation suitable for all, including those who have mobility issues and need easy access. Please do contact the owners, Helen and Nigel, for more information; we will be happy to discuss your needs.

• Parking is available outside the front door, or in the numerous seafront spaces across the road. All spaces are free of charge.

The bedroom can be arranged as either one king-size or two single beds. Please let us know in advance which arrangement you require. A third family member could sleep on the large sofa bed in the living room. (So 3 separate beds are possible.)

• For parents with two children, we suggest two singles for the children in the bedroom. The sofabed in the sitting room can convert into a double for the parents. (A visiting family just tried this out and were very happy!)

• We can also supply a travel cot.

• Thistle Flat is not suitable for two couples.

• There is access to the courtyard garden through the bedroom.

• We are happy to welcome ONE well-behaved dog, but no cats due to allergies – sorry. Please tell us if you plan to bring a dog. We request that your dog stays in the front room and does not climb on the sofabed or comfy chairs.

The flat is your own private space. You can also use the courtyard garden at the rear of the house.

Host Information

The hosts, Helen and Nigel, live upstairs. We aim to be there to greet you when you arrive and to be on hand, or just a call away, during your stay. We will be in touch in advance to check on your special requirements – please let us know what you need to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Other details

• Thistle Flat has central heating. You can easily turn it to the temperature you like.

• Free wi fi is available, plus TV and DVD player. We offer a wide selection of DVDs for your evenings in, plus games and books.

• In addition to a kettle, toaster, fridge and electric hob, the kitchen contains a combi-microwave (which can grill and bake), a small dishwasher, and a washer/dryer for clothes.

• We will supply a range of ‘kitchen basics’ for cooking purposes, plus tea towels, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets and laundry powder (non-biological).

• Fresh food to get you started - milk, butter and eggs - will be in the fridge . Tea, coffee and sugar also ready for a cuppa when you arrive!

• Bed linen and towels are supplied.

• Soap, toilet paper, bath mat and a non-slip shower mat are supplied in the shower room.

** No extra cleaning charge, on the understanding that you leave the flat tidy. Please wash up and take out the rubbish before you leave. **

• No parties or events.
• Keep noise to a minimum after 9pm.
• ONE well-behaved dog welcome. Your dog must sleep in the front room and keep out of the bedroom. No extra charge is made, unless your dog causes damage.
* The sofabed is not available if you bring a dog. No other pets, sorry.
• Please leave Thistle Flat tidy when you leave, wash all dishes and remove rubbish. On this understanding, no extra cleaning charge will be made.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Helen (the owner) a message.

If Helen (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
