“Farm View Cottage, just perfect. . .”

Reviewed 25 Feb 2019

We recently celebrated our first wedding Anniversary at Farm View cottage, it was everything we wanted it to be, Parwich is our dream place to live a beautiful un spoilt village, lovely people, walks from the door and so nice to walk our rescue dog away from other dogs, a walk to cuckoo gate was so worth it, a Trip to Tissington and chatsworth house was lovely, The dancing starlings as I call them was an amazing sight over the cottage, lots of villagers with umbrellas came out to see this amazing sight at around 5.30 at night, the cottage is quirky, delightful, clean well equipped, beautiful bathroom, and lovely real fires which we was determined to light every night even though the weather was far to warm for February we was not missing out on a real fire !! Such a quiet restful place just perfect, oh and thank you for the tea and biscuits. Thank you so much. John, Debbie and Blaze the Patterdale x

Owner's reply: Thank you for your nice review and we are really pleased that you enjoyed both the cottage and also the Village of Parwich. Yes its a special place at all times of the year. We are spending next week at Farm View and we always look forward to staying there and meeting local friends. Hopefully you will return.

“Absolutely beautiful”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2019

We visited for three days to celebrate birthdays and unwind and found a little slice of heaven. The cottage is beautiful and functional, with an amazing bathroom, cottage kitchen, quaint living room and a big bedroom with attached WC. Spread over three levels this cottage was even more beautiful than expected and set in a picturesque location were the sun blessed us with its presence every day. We spent days walking the local area, carrisngton and Dovedale and totalled 30kms over three day, both of us and the spaniel had tired legs by the evenings and enjoyed a nice soak in the bath and being warmed by the fire or log burner. The village is beautiful and every one we met was friendly but due to wanting to make the most of the cottage we did not venture to the pub. We hope to visit again soon, thanks for the hospitality, the cottage was very welcoming and felt like home.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your great review. It's so nice to hear from a couple who love our Cottage and Parwich as much as we do We are visiting next week. Please come again. How about end of June and enjoy Wakes week festival?

“Parwich break”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2018

Very nice and comfortable cottage with all you need for a great break. The log fire was lovely and the bathroom was really nice. We were kept warm in bed with the electric blanket.the village was lovely and we had a fantastic Sunday dinner at the local pub.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the Cottage and yes the food at the Sycamore is very good.

“Lovely cosy cottage, with great access to the Peak District”

Reviewed 12 Apr 2018

Our first time to the Peak District, we were very impressed with most of the towns and villages we visited. Parwich was no exception - nice quiet village with very friendly pub with hearty pub food, very reasonlably priced. There's also a British Legion club, which serves as a second pub, but we never got the chnace to try it out. Also plenty of walks around and good access to the whol Peak District area. The cottage is nice and cosy setout on 3 floors, with lovely new bathroom/shower room, very comfortable king-size bed and relaxing lounge area with open fire. It was clean, tidy and very well equiped throughout. In addition, there was lots of information on walks and leaflets of other attractions in the area. All in all we had a lovely stay. Many thanks .

Owner's reply: Thanks for your nice review and we are really pleased that you enjoyed your first trip to the Peak District. Please come again perhaps in a different season.

“wonderful character cottage in great location”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2017

cottage was everything we'd hoped for very old but with modern amenities especially the 5* bathroom.First log burner we've managed to keep alight was so easy work. Loved sitting in the lounge with a roaring fire after walking in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. lots of walks direct from the village and plenty of books in the cottage giving lots of info. good pub in the village serving decent food nothing fancy just good pub grub.Try the lamplight restaurant in Ashbourne which was lovely we felt fully recharged after the break

Owner's reply: Thanks for your review and so pleased that you enjoyed Parwich We are spending a month in the Caribbean but your review almost makes us homesick!!

“Beautiful”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2016

Beautiful little place, stunning views lovery feel to the cottage only downfall was the log burner wouldn't go properly think it needs a new door seal but apart from that everything was perfect wishould wet could of stayed longer to be honest

Owner's reply: Thanks very much for your review and really pleased that you enjoyed the cottage. Sorry about the log burner as the cottage is so cosy when it is working well. We are surprised if there is a problem with the door seal as the stove was serviced only 4 weeks ago. Perhaps the door needs adjustment which is very easy. We shall get it checked.
