“Lovely stay at Shepards Retreat”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2017

What a fantastic place to spend a couple of days, we've stayed in huts/yurts around Hereford/Worcestershire and this is by far the most pleasant. We were greeted by Suzanne who introduced us to all her ducks!! We then decided to take an unexpected walk up the obelisk. When we returned for a BBQ, there was a little guest - Howard the duck, he had some pellet and went to the lake and called his friends, 10 mins later then there were three!! The firepit was just amazing!! The following morning we went into Ledbury. The prince of wales was a perfect traditional pub with a great selection of ales - the ruination for one which was 8.5%. We carried on to the Talbot where we had lunch. We came back to the hut and had some drinks and played some games as it was rainy. We would thank Suzanne and Danny for being so friendly, helpful, informative and having a great sense of humour. Such lovely people, thank you for sharing your beautiful hut with us. We have shared our photos on Facebook and had a fantastic response at least 3 friends have asked for details!! :)

Owner's reply: Thank you for such a lovely review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay despite the weather turning so wet. Such a pity you didnt get to feed the girls. Thank you for your recommendations too. Hope we can welcome you back one day.

“Best holiday in the UK without a doubt”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2016

This was without a doubt the best place we have stayed in the UK. The Shepherds retreat is so cosy and beautiful, something so unique and different. The grounds it is set in are out of this world. Suzanne and Danny are so welcoming and helpful. They gave brilliant advice of places to visit and places to eat. For this reason and the fact the hut is amazing I will definitely be returning and recommending friends and family.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for such a fabulous review. Its lovely to hear you had a good time here and it will be great to welcome you back.

“Picturesque, Relaxing Get Away”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2015

A unique getaway from it all experience. Although small the Shepherds Hut is beautifully made and decorated and has everything you need for your stay. The shower and toilet are a real bonus being part of the hut rather than located outside. The fire pit is great for warmth whilst sitting outside enjoying the evening. The location couldn't be better by the pond with friendly ducks and plenty of other wildlife. Ledbury is an historic market town with restaurants, pubs and great shops if you want something a little different along with the usual butchers, bakers and supermarkets and a maximum 10 minute drive away. Great area to explore only wish we had been able to stay longer so will definitely be back. Suzanne and Danny couldn't have been better hosts.

“Lovely getaway from city life!”

Reviewed 30 May 2015

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at shepherds retreat. Had the firepit going, ensured wingy (the duck) was well fed, and played plenty of monopoly! The location is great, although a car is definitely necessary for travel into Ledbury and to nearby pubs. Hosts very helpful, able to supply leaflets about local cycle hire and routes, as well as information about the best places to eat, and walk. No problems at all, i hope to return one day! Sorry for the delayed review! Exams got a bit on top of us again!

“Idyllic rural hideaway”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2015

This gorgeous shepherd's hut is small but perfectly formed and there was ample space for our three-night stay, including all we needed to self-cater. Really cosy and warm at night and fantastic to wake up to the sound of the brook babbling outside the bedroom window. Lovely walks to Eastnor Castle and Ledbury town without needing to get in the car each day were a real bonus. Huge thanks to Suzanne and Danny who were excellent hosts. Definitely somewhere we'll be recommending to friends and family looking for a rural getaway.

“Ducks, a woodpecker and an owl.”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2015

A lovely couple of nights in a cosy place with a great breakfast basket and hosts who couldn't have done more to make our stay better and with ducks, a woodpecker and an owl for company.

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2014

Just returned from a two night stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by such caring and attentive hosts. Really couldn't have asked for a nicer location to be staying in. Will recommend to anyone and will be booking again for the new year. Thank you!

“Lovely quaint little getaway”

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This cute retreat has everything you need for your trip with the addition of a few thoughtful little extras. Cake and home made Apple juice on arrival. The fire pit was amazing. Will definitely be going back.

Owner's reply: Lovely you enjoyed your stay and your partner enjoyed her surprise! We look forward to welcoming you both back in the future.

“FABULOUS SHEPHERDS HUT IN IDYLLIC SETTING”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2014

Couldn't ask for nicer owners, with home made cakes on arrival. The shepherds hut is the best we have ever stayed in and immaculate. The luxury of shower room & toilet inside the shepherds hut was great. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in out of any accommodation we have stayed in. Not forgetting the perfect location in the countryside next to a duck pond. Lovely walks from the shepherds hut and only a short drive from the picturesque town of Ledbury. Can't wait to return.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much. Pleased you had such a good weekend. Hope we can welcome you back in the future to do all the things you didn't have time for!

“We loved it!”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2014

Had a lovely time! the bed was comfortable, it was very clean and the setting was just lovely. The couple who run it were helpful and friendly and Peter the duck visited every morning! We use the fire pit and had a lovely evening sitting out under the trees. We are defiantly coming back again next year! It's was totally as good as we hoped! Thank you for a lovely stay and see you next year! Would defiantly recommend it!

Owner's reply: Thank you and pleased you had such a good time.It was lovely meeting you and Peter the resident duck is still greeting all the guests, hoping to be fed!
