Little Cowarne Court
Beautiful cottage with plenty of room for the whole family

Have just come back from a week at Little Cowarne Court with 11 adults, 4 kids and 5 dogs. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and comfortably accommodated all of us. The kitchen was especially good as we managed to cook a few evening meals, including a Sunday Roast and also a cooked breakfast in the morning. The surrounding area is beautiful with The Three Horseshoes within walking distance and The Wheelwright Arms in Pencombe only a short drive away. Both were really welcoming and served great food. Would definitely recommend this house to any 'large' family wanting a great get together. … see more

Wow - where do I start?

Excellent stay in well equipped cottages. Real home from home. Log fires in comfy lounges with tv and dvd facilities, an excellent joint dining area that we used constantly, clean bathrooms and bedrooms, and well equipped kitchens. The games room, although not used by us, would be a hit with teenagers. Wifi access was very much appreciated. All this topped off with stunning views and the chance of long walks in the countryside. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would return. I have no hesitation of recommending Durstone Cottages to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Superb!!!!!! … see more

The Freeth with Indoor Swimming Pool
Beautiful, Luxurious and Family Friendly

We were "blown away" by The Freeth! It is remote so make sure you take what you need but in such a gorgeous setting it is worth the drive. Stunning house and gardens, every room beautifully decorated and furnished but also family friendly. So spacious and comfortable the house has everything you need and more, a real home from home. The swimming pool is fantastic and was the perfect temperature for all the family aged 2yrs to 60yrs. A surprise find was the pool table upstairs in the pool house and table tennis in the garden shed. The playroom on the second floor was a magnet for the little ones as were the garden toys and swings. We celebrated a birthday with Sunday lunch for 14 around the dining table and there was room to spare. There are walks to enjoy around the estate however we were happy spending our weekend in and around the house. Make sure you take in the rolling landscape and sunsets from the "King of the Castle" bench in the garden. No one wanted to leave and we all want to return! … see more
