“A Perfect Break” We stayed in the Goose Cotts for three nights, and we will definitely be back to stay there again. The accommodation is fantastic, a beautiful old building professionally modernised to a very high standard and very well equipped. Everything about this property is comfortable and Ken and Ruth are the most friendly of hosts.
The area is spectacular too. We deliberately chose not to use the car while there and to simply have a relaxing weekend, walking and eating at the splendid local pubs (Bull's Head, Craswall and Bridge, Michaelchurch). The views of the mountains on one side and the rolling Hereford hills on the other are amazing. We ventured slightly further afield on our way home, and next time we will explore the area a little more.
If you want a quiet break, Duke's Farm is perfect.
“beautiful spacious barn tranquil peaceful surroundings” we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful well equipped barn.
The barn is situated in a quiet village so it is necessary to drive out to most places of interest
some lovely surrounding towns and national trust properties to visit.
“Cosy well equipped cottage ideal for walking in and around Brecon.” Close to Kington centre where you can get a good evening meal at The Royal Oak. Friendly neighbors with lots of good tips for walking and visiting Élan Valley Brecon or Hay on Wye.
“Excellent week at the medlar!!” We enjoyed fantastic week away at the medlar after a very wet week camping prior to arrival. Was very glad of the warmth and comfort!! Very well equipped cottage. Washing machine, iron, ironing board and washing line in the lovely courtyard were essential and well used. We were able to park the car with all camping equipment in designated space behind the cottage and other car that was in use every day in car park down the road which was so handy. Very impressed and will definitely recommend to others.
“A great place to stay for those that like the quiet life.” We rented the upper apartment in May 2012 and were impressed enough to return in 2013 to rent the lower apartment. Both apartments have been recently refurbished and offer quality accommodation with everything you need for a quiet vacation in the Herefordshire countryside. Both apartments have wireless Internet access, convenient for looking up all the places to visit. The grounds also has a small lake with a resident wild fowl population so take your binoculars. Our only reservation is that if you are over five foot ten inches I would go for the upper apartment as the lower apartment has low ceilings given that it is a former cider press. Parts of the main house are reputed to be 500 years old so has lots of of history for anyone interested in old buildings. One last thing, the owners, Tim and Abi who live in the big red house attached ( not sure where 'White House' originated) are the most friendly and helpful hosts we have experienced in almost 30 years of staying in holiday cottages. We will be going back in 2014 but this time we will be taking our paint-boxes. What more can we say.
