“A beautiful two bed apartment” It was, lovely and clean, beautiful farmhouse style apartment, in stunning surroundings, and owners are lovely and welcoming and made us some home cooked cakes on arrive. I would recommend to anyone.
“Great cottage and village-weekend entertainment from the doorstep!” This suprisingly spacious medieval terraced cottage is a satisfying blend of the ancient with well-appointed modern facilities (kitchen/bathrooms/cathedral bedroom). We landed late Friday after work and parked the car for the weekend. The romp up Offa's Dyke from the doorstep with kids in tow (aged 7-14) was suitably rewarded with a pint and free pool at the Oxford Arms, a few doors a way. We enjoyed the ambiance of Kington high street and Chocolate Box specialty shop (kids/adults) and the adults the various food options/butchers/bakers/grocery (adults!). Shame a weekend meant we didn't fully explore the area, but a wild swim at Pembridge and coffee & cake on the corner was some consolation on the way home......make up your own minds.
“The best” The Roost at Old Vine is simply the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. The location is idyllic, wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, so peaceful, and beautiful sunsets if, like us, you are lucky enough to see them. One of the best things about the apartment is the owners Carol and Barry who are so warm and welcoming, always available to help but never intrusive. They have the balance just right. And thanks for the wine Barry! The apartment itself is spacious, well designed and equipped, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. What more could you ask? It is well situated for visiting so many places, a week is not enough and we hope to return to this delightful apartment.
“Beautiful property in a truly peaceful setting - STUNNING inside and out” We stayed at the The Freeth for a four night midweek stay to celebrate my fathers birthday. It was truly stunning - immaculately presented, extremely clean and tidy and very well equipped.
Swimming pool brilliant, gardens stunning, playroom very well equipped, books and DVD selection great, in addition to the table tennis and football etc.
I would highly recommend this property and am unable to find even one fault. It was suitable for children (6 years old being the youngest) to the older members of my family. Peta and Louisa were very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay so memorable
Can't wait to book again next year!!!!
“Lovely little cottage in beautiful countryside” Pretty cottage in beautiful countryside 5 mins walk from local town.
Very clean, and well presented with substantial garden area. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Bedrooms very comfy with lovely bed linen . Lounge small but plenty of space for two to lounge and dine, however in poor weather would be on the small size for 4. However the garden space was very large for the size of the property, perfect for al fresco dining .
“Perfect for large groups” We were a group of 19 and it was brilliant, just what we needed. Given our numbers, we took both halves of the cottage and had access to the communal dining area, as well as two kitchens, two lounges and a multitude of bedrooms and bathrooms. Given that the weather wasn't kind during our stay, this and the games room made the weekend much more enjoyable.
Sarah, the owner, has been really helpful throughout and responds really quickly to queries etc.
Other plus points include: free WiFI, TVs (including some TVs in the bedrooms), radios, dishwashers, logs and charcoal available (honesty box) - although we took our own charcoal, plenty of parking, great local pub with good beers and range of food.
If you are looking for accommodation for a large group, this place is highly recommended.
“Great weekend stay” We stayed for a weekend in November in this lovely, warm and comfortable cottage. The location is beautiful and would love to stay again in Spring or Summer when the daylight hours are longer.

Lovely cottage with beautiful features
Stayed for only a weekend but found the cottage perfect for our needs. It’s really well equipped, especially the kitchen, the beds are comfortable, bathroom has been refurbished recently and is very modern, comfortable sofa and even a fire place. We loved the owl decorations and lovely old features of the house. Thankfully the weather was good, so didn’t use fireplace but enjoyed a BBQ on patio seating with sun umbrellas and also appreciated the picnic bench at the top of the garden. Shops, pubs etc in Kington are a short walk away. Great location for walking on Hergest Ridge, Offa’s Dyke. We hope to be back later in the year. …
The Kernel - Kerne Bridge River Wye. AONB. Your holiday home from home!
A comfortable well equipped holiday cottage with beautiful woodland views across the valley. A pretty sunny garden, just relax to the sound of bird song. Location is quiet but convenient. Just a few minutes walk from a good pub, canoe centre, riverside walks and Goodrich castle. Also very central for exploring the valley and the Forest of Dean by car.
Highly recommended. …

Stunning property in a beautiful location.
What an amazing find this was! Jules and Chris are fantastic hosts and have created a relaxing, luxurious and welcoming atmosphere in their beautiful Coach House property.
Every detail has been thought about, from a wonderful welcome pack (including tasty treats for our dog!), lovely products in the bathrooms, down to torches to help you light your way if you happen to be out for a walk after dark in the country lanes.
The Coach House is the most calming retreat you could hope to find. We can’t wait to come back. …
