“A great place to stay for those that like the quiet life.” We rented the upper apartment in May 2012 and were impressed enough to return in 2013 to rent the lower apartment. Both apartments have been recently refurbished and offer quality accommodation with everything you need for a quiet vacation in the Herefordshire countryside. Both apartments have wireless Internet access, convenient for looking up all the places to visit. The grounds also has a small lake with a resident wild fowl population so take your binoculars. Our only reservation is that if you are over five foot ten inches I would go for the upper apartment as the lower apartment has low ceilings given that it is a former cider press. Parts of the main house are reputed to be 500 years old so has lots of of history for anyone interested in old buildings. One last thing, the owners, Tim and Abi who live in the big red house attached ( not sure where 'White House' originated) are the most friendly and helpful hosts we have experienced in almost 30 years of staying in holiday cottages. We will be going back in 2014 but this time we will be taking our paint-boxes. What more can we say.
“Excellent week at the medlar!!” We enjoyed fantastic week away at the medlar after a very wet week camping prior to arrival. Was very glad of the warmth and comfort!! Very well equipped cottage. Washing machine, iron, ironing board and washing line in the lovely courtyard were essential and well used. We were able to park the car with all camping equipment in designated space behind the cottage and other car that was in use every day in car park down the road which was so handy. Very impressed and will definitely recommend to others.
“Wonderful house, beautifully presented - but very remote” 17 of us hired this house for a hen weekend. The house was absolutely beautiful, the photos really don't do it justice. Communication was great and really quick, very professional. The cleanliness was second to none, everywhere was spotless - even the high ceilings with beams!
The indoor pool is separate to the main house so need to go outside to get to it, it does have its own changing room and shower however. The water could have been a touch warmer!
The only downside to the house is the location, it really is very remote and nothing in walking distance. So if you're happy to stay in the house and it's surrounding gardens then this is the place for you!
“Hereford Hospitality” The Whitehouse, Brinsop, is probably in probably one of the most gorgeous and relaxing settings in Hereford. The guesthouse overlooks a beautiful pond and has a mountain view. The cottage dates back to medieval times and really feels historical but it is also equipped with a modern shower and excellent kitchen facilities. The historical little church of St. George's Church is only a few minutes' walk away and the setting is perfect for long walks with family and friends. We arrived at the Whitehouse as strangers and left as friends. The owners', Tim and Abbi's, hospitality was the most extraordinary element of our stay. We'll return in a heartbeat!
“Great place to stay for large groups with children” We were a group of 15 adults and 6 children under 4 - Rose Cottage suited us perfectly. Unpretentious accomodation, bags of space - the bedrooms on the 1st floor are enormous! The property has a lovely dining room with space for 18 at the table and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The living room was comfortably big enough for the whole group, though there is a library and separate TV room if you wanted to spread out a bit. Caters well for small children with highchairs, cots and lots of stairgates. The beds were a little springy and the decor in the bedrooms a bit dated, but we still got excellent value for money. Hereford is just down the road and some of the group went to see the copy of the Mappa Mundi held in the cathedral. Nice market town feel to the city, nice cafes and bars/interesting shops.
“A Perfect Break” We stayed in the Goose Cotts for three nights, and we will definitely be back to stay there again. The accommodation is fantastic, a beautiful old building professionally modernised to a very high standard and very well equipped. Everything about this property is comfortable and Ken and Ruth are the most friendly of hosts.
The area is spectacular too. We deliberately chose not to use the car while there and to simply have a relaxing weekend, walking and eating at the splendid local pubs (Bull's Head, Craswall and Bridge, Michaelchurch). The views of the mountains on one side and the rolling Hereford hills on the other are amazing. We ventured slightly further afield on our way home, and next time we will explore the area a little more.

Wonderful place for a family celebration
We loved everything about this beautiful place!
The house was spacious, clean and well equipped. The games room was perfect for our 9 year old up to those in their 70s. The pool was a big hit too!
We had a beautiful walk along the river and enjoyed a meal for 14 around the round tables.
The trip down the very narrow lane was a challenge for some, but outweighed by everything else.
We will definitely be booking again as it worked perfectly for our 4 families across 3 generations.
Definitely recommended ! …
Dukes Farm Holiday Cottages, Craswall, Hereford
A home from home
The Goose Cotts is a lovely cosy retreat in a beautiful setting. We had a much needed relaxing week here enjoying great walking during the day and settling down in front of the woodburner in the evening. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. However, the thing which made our stay most memorable was the very warm welcome, friendliness, and wealth of local knowledge which Ruth and Ken provided. Thank you both! …
Perfect location & dog-freindly
This is a perfect location for us to stay when we return to the Herefordshire area. Easy to keep clean with a dog in tow & as we were working collecting apples, the space in the kitchen allowed boots & outer clothing to be stored. The cottage is cleverly designed, bright, clean & comfortable with an extremely comfortable bed. Perfect for 2 people (we had an assistant apple-picker & he was fine on the z-bed too).
We will definately return & we must organise our bookings in advance as I think this is a popular place to stay! …
Rivington Barn Luxury Holiday Cottage
Rivington Barn, Little Howle Farm
Fantastic accommodation, spotlessly clean with all the comforts of home and more.
The owner(Amanda) went out of her way to make us feel welcome and we particularly appreciated the little extra touches like the bottle of wine, the eggs and the fresh bread delivered to our door for our first morning's breakfast.
We loved the layout of the barn with the living accommodation being upstairs. Both of the downstairs bedrooms are spacious with extremely comfortable beds and beautiful ensuite bathrooms with bath and separate shower. There is even underfloor heating.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. …

Trinity Lad - Much Dewchurch, Herefordshire
Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting
The cottage is in an ideal position, the amazing Forest of Dean and all its attractions are easily accessible. We visited because my daughter was running Blaze the Bibblins. A fell race in the heart of the Forest. It is a hard race but in spectacular setting. The cottage was perfect, clean, spacious and very welcoming. The Black Swan Pub was great for an evening meal. Staff could not have been friendlier. We tried the rifle shooting next door to the cottage, which was good fun. …
