Little Canwood House is the Gold Award winner for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service in 2022/23. Little Canwood House, has been sympathetically restored to create a traditional yet modern and luxury feel, offering 5 star tourist board rated, luxury, self catering, accommodation suitable for families and groups - sleeps 7+1. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

We have another property next to Little Canwood House, Sharpnage House sleeps 10+1. This property has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.Each property has its own private garden and entrance, therefore they can be booked separately or together. Please enquire.

There is a games room on site, this is a separate building situated between the two properties and each property has its own access to it from their garden.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you liked the property and the area. We have taken on board your comments about the kitchen and will be looking into upgrading items which may be a little tired. We would, however, just like to highlight the comments by the assessor at our annual Visit England assessment, March 2019 which states: ‘’ Excellent standard of appliances and white goods in place. Ample provision of very good quality well matched crockery, glassware and cutlery. Very good provision of cookware and utensils also being in place.’’ Unfortunately a tin opener missing at the time of your stay. We offered to get one but you kindly offered to purchased one when you were shopping and we offered to reimburse. We also note your comments regarding the microwave, and we are getting it tested. We apologise that the tap was loose. We had ordered a new tap but unfortunately it didn’t arrive on time as well as new parts of silicon for the shower door, this will be rectified shortly. We are very disappointed that you felt that you received a “very rude email’’. We pride ourselves on giving our guests the best possible service and making them feel very welcome and secure. It was never our intention to make you feel uncomfortable whatsoever, as we have explained in our emails to yourself. We were asked by the other guests to contact you as they had witnessed the gate between the two properties being used and left open and were worried that their dog or children may walk through. At no point did we accuse you of trespassing. We are going to have a bolt put on either side of the gate so that this situation cannot arise again. Again we are extremely sorry that his email came over as being rude. Here is a copy of the email that was sent to you: ‘’ Good evening, I hope everything is ok at Little Canwood house. I am very sorry to email you, but I just wanted to check that you found the key for the games room, which is kept on a wooden key hanger above the well. This key opens the games room door from your garden. So there is no need to go through the gate into Sharpnage house garden. The small gate that is made in the fence is there to be used, when our properties are booked together. Which allows people to go from one property to another. I would kindly ask if you could keep the gate closed at all times as the guests at Sharpnage house have got a dog next door and also children. I hope this is ok. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems. I hope that you will enjoy your stay and hopefully the weather will get better so you can also enjoy the garden. Why can't I call Mrs (the owner) before booking?

You can exchange contact details with the property owner/manager once your booking is confirmed and you’ve paid in full. Paying and communicating only through our platform allows us to ensure that your booking is covered by our Payment Protection policy.

If you have any questions before booking, you can send the property owner/manager a message via the contact form on their listing. Once you’ve booked, you can discuss the rental and make arrangements for your trip by logging into Manage my booking.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mrs (the owner) a message.

If Mrs (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
