Ideal for walkers, cyclists, and sightseers, Kinder Path Cottage is recently refurbished and just a few yards from a popular track leading up to Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District.

This delightful south-facing cottage blends the contemporary convenience of a fitted, fully equipped kitchen with traditional features such as the original stone flagged floor.

It is a five minute walk from Hayfield village, with its many pubs, tea room, café, restaurant bar and fish and chip shop, and within easy reach of all the Peak District has to offer - Chatsworth, Buxton, Bakewell, Castleton, Dovedale . . .

The cottage has a lovely sunny aspect with views over the village towards Chinley Churn and Mount Famine. Its raised front garden is full of herbs and aromatic plants. After a long walk, pour yourself a cup of tea or glass of wine and sit on the bench to watch the world go by. Or relax with a book in front of the log burning stove . . .

The large front bedroom has a double bed, there is a single bed in the second bedroom, and also a pullout trundle suitable for a child.

The cottage has Wi-Fi, a secure bike shed, and a terraced back garden which is a suntrap during the summer months.

“Perfect Peaks Cottage”

Myself and my friend had a weekend break here at the end of March and was truly impressed with everything the cottage provides. Breathtaking views, beautiful decor and the best location. You can walk to the idyllic village in a couple of mins where you’ll find an array of authentic countryside pubs. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly which really topped off the perfect weekend. I will be coming back to this cottage and will recommend it to anyone looking for a break in the Peak District.

Just opened the door and I felt so at home, the house was warm, very clean, I found all I needed, there were so many little touches that I am sure I missed some, Well thought out, Little touches were, tea coffee, fresh fruit and milk, just to start. Great place to start to walk from no need to drive, good places to eat, great italian by the church. I was lucky as I grew up in the area and knew that it was well plased, easy for Buxton, Manchester and other places. Host is very interesting to talk to, I know I WILL use the house again. Booked 2 nights for my husband's birthday. Loved it so much, stayed an extra night. Accommodation was clean, warm and had everything we needed. Gill was lovely and communication both beforehand and whilst there was great. We were lucky enough to have snow during our visit which added to the nice scenery. Plenty of eating places in walking distance. Our best compliment would probably be "it's just like a home from home" (but much better scenery!!). Look forward to going again in spring or summer to make the most of some good walks in the area.

What can I say.... We were all sad to leave at the end of our time at Kinder Path Cottage.... We received a lovely warm welcome from Gill when we arrived. The location of the cottage is outstanding - set on a hill in the village with outstanding views. The cottage itself is excellent. Everything has been thought of and the quality of the furniture and appliances at this cottage are the best we have had. The cottage is spotlessly clean and has an abundance of books for any type of reader along with a TV, CD and DVD player. Gill had even brought our son an ice hockey game to the cottage to ensure he didn't get bored! Everything is included in this rental - even logs and kindling for the log burner! The village has some excellent village stores for supplies and everyone was friendly. Our time there was a mixed bag with the weather - predominantly rain, however this did not in any way ruin our time here and gave us the opportunity to go out in the fresh air walking and come back to the cottage and sit around the log burner and relax. Local walks from the door and up and around Kinder Scout are amazing - go out of the cottage and turn left, then left up the Snake Path (marked by a plaque about the Kinder Trespass) and over the hill towards Kinder Reservoir - the views on a clear day are spectacular - they're still pretty good even when it's raining. Waking up in the morning to the view from the bedroom window is something I shall really miss. This really is a great place to come and get away from the rat race and re-discover the finer things in life. I would most definitely book again - it is a real gem of a place. If you are wondering whether you should book it - just book it, you will not be disappointed....
