Welcome to a true Cornish paradise. If you listed everything you could hope for in a Cornish holiday apartment and gave it to a builder, they would probably build something like The Quarterdeck. With its stunning location and warm, spacious interior, you’ll find this property gives you the perfect balance of things to do and spaces to unwind.
The apartment is located in Falmouth, a stone’s throw from Gyllyngvase Beach. From almost every window you are treated to expansive views across Falmouth Bay; a beautiful stretch of turquoise water which continues uninterrupted until it meets the horizon. To your left you can see the beautiful scope of Pendennis Head, with part of the eponymous Tudor castle visible standing proudly at its crown.
The bay itself is often host to ships, fishing vessels and sailboats, giving you plenty of tranquil sights to watch as you wile away the hours from the beach or your own private balcony.
Inside, you will find the apartment decorated in calm, neutral colours that make the most of the ample light from the large windows. The whole apartment is furnished to an incredibly high standard. With a mixture of comfortable armchairs and sofas, the living room is a great place to relax and enjoy entertainment on the widescreen television, read, or just sit and stare out of generous bay windows.
The dining area includes a table and chairs for four people, located in front of the French doors to ensure mealtimes are flooded with light and accompanied by a great view. You may wish to take your meals outside, and make the most of the balcony with a quiet breakfast or lunch in the fresh air.
The kitchen area comes equipped with everything you need to make delicious meals on the days where you fancy staying in and enjoying everything this property has to offer. As well as being stylishly fitted with high quality units, the kitchen includes an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. A dishwasher ensures your ‘me’ time isn’t taken up with scrubbing plates and cutlery, while a wine fridge makes that evening tipple even more refreshing.
As well as the little luxuries, the quarterdeck comes equipped with all the modern conveniences you could hope for. The utility cupboard contains a washing machine and dryer so that an impromptu splash in the sea or a spilt ice cream doesn’t create a wardrobe crisis. Outside you’ll find a parking space, and storage for wetsuits and surfboards. There’s even a heated communal shower outdoors so you can get rid of the sand after hours at the beach.
After a long day of exploring and enjoying, you can retire to one of the two comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom contains a king sized double bed and access to another private balcony, while the second bedroom comes complete with twin beds and also an en-suite shower room, containing a shower, WC, and hand basin. The family bathroom features a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.
The Quarterdeck apartment is located in Queen Mary house, built in the same style as the hotel which originally stood on the site in the 1920s. The house is built on a slope, so although the apartment is on the first floor, it is accessed from the rear parking bay which means just a few steps down to the apartment door.
Between the house and the beach are the Queen Mary Gardens, a beautifully maintained subtropical haven that gives you yet another wonderful place to relax and unwind in the sun.
